I use google play/music to host all my music on my galaxy nexus, works fairly well. Needs Wifi or 4G if you tend to skip through songs...like me.

Customers told me about a case that's pretty good and shock absorbing..  think it was something other then otter box..

I have an incipio hardshell case on my phone now. I can't tell you the rediculous number of times I've dropped it out of the car, or walking through a parking lot, etc. It's a good case if you find one, and I think it was only about 10 bucks.

Found a pretty good listing of waterproof cases here: http://mashable.com/2012/04/09/waterproof-smartphone-cases/#580931-EscapeCapsule - I'm currently using a Casio Commando phone (favorite party trick: throwing it across the room & then dropping it in a glass of beer); it's definitely rugged, but slow and only runs to Android 2.3. If I do upgrade, I'd need some water protection as several generations of tough Casio phones have trained me not to worry about rain, rivers, or jumping out of a canoe in the middle of a lake just because it sounds like fun.

I have the Casio Brigade and I do the same party tricks...I was waiting for the Commando at the time, but wasn't patient enough...I am assuming they will come out with an upgraded 4G LTe Commando upgrade by the spring of next year knowing their usual cycle of time, so I am looking out for the details of it coming...
