Grumble lady hit the S2R today

Mainly a rant

but lady backed into the bike today with her car thankfully just some broken cheap bits CRG mirror and a couple of Rizoma rear set parts. Guy came in the station I work at caught my attention as he told me this lady "backed into [my] Ducati", she was leaving when I stepped outside. First I grabbed her plate number then she stopped and pulled around to the store. She apparently pulled into a gas pump with the tank on the wrong side of her car, backed up knocked the S2R over, finished making her turn pulled correctly into the space/gas pump filled her car with gas and never took notice that she knocked this motorcycle over as she was facing it, guess she was hoping no one noticed. Needless to say I was super pissed and didn't hold back with the insults/F-bombs. I think having the steering lock on saved it from most of the damage looks like she hit the left clip on to tip it over as the frame has a slight nick in it near the steering head. My right hand CRG hindsight mirror got crushed and held up so the tank and tail section or clutch didn't get any damage at all. Maybe its a bit extreme but all I could think about for the rest of the day is "I want to poop on her door step and set her Toyota Corolla on fire" I'm emotionally attached to the bike $:-\$ . Several years ago girl backs into my parked bike. They don't want to go through insurance, so I call the dad (his insurance) a few days later with quote ($800). He thinks I'm trying to pull a fast one so I have to tell him, "These are hand built in Italy. They are the Ferrari of motorcycles. You're VERY lucky it didn't dent my tank-they cost like $1800. I'd be happy to just call your insurance company if you want to argue with me AT ALL."

Can you explain this more? I don't bother using the steering lock when parked for gas but maybe I should be.

If it makes you feel better, F-bombs away! On the other hand, a wise man once said: If you are mad and it feels good, don't do it!

Lucky me, I only had a close call yesterday when this stupid wannabe Mitsubishi racer decided to run a stop sign and caused me to lock both brakes. I skidded for a good five feet and was within a couple of feet from smashing his stupid face with my front end.

The nice guy in me can understand, but the part of me that gets bullsh*t when someone messes with my stuff doesn't give two craps about her feelings and would take it to her insurance anyway.

That way it gets on record, she's on the hook for COMPLETELY repairing all the damage to your bike, and its through her insurance. You won't be sitting there two months down the road still waiting for the money to come in for fixing your bike because she "forgot" to mail off a check.

The last position on the key, a metal bar moves from the base of the ignition into the triples to keep them from moving, it locks them in place. The steering lock is supposed to keep thieves from walking away with your moto while your not around but like all things it can be broken. I keep the lock on any time I park for an extend period of time, example while I'm at work, even though I'm at most 50 feet away at any given time you never know when some goose penis is going to screw around.
