So I've been stalking these forums for about 2 years, and I finally purchased my first Monster.

Name: Cliff
Location: Austin, Texas
Bikes: 1987 Honda Nighthawk S (CB700SC)
2012 Red Ducati Monster 1100 Evo

Had a great purchasing experience at Ducati of Austin, and Amanda helped me through the purchase. I highly recommend the dealership, and be sure to go to Amanda!

Now to start the 'mods'. On the inexpensive/easy list first are frame sliders and Black vinyl for the panels.

Cheers,
Cliff

Greetings from Boston,

I just traded my 1100EVO for a Diavel and have a perfect pair of Ducati Performance saddle bags with mounts specially adapted to the EVO.  Unfortunately these won't fit on the Diavel, so I'm selling the assembly.

Welcome. Austin's on my list of placed I'd move to. Got to visit once a while back and thought it was great... hot but great.

One really common and cheap mod is to swap out the front sprocket. Stock is 15 teeth and many folks like going down to 14 teeth. You loose some off the top - but it's a top you'll never see except at a track, or trying to loose your license. The trade off is much better city/low speed performance from the engine. Stock they tend to start bucking/lurching below 3500 rmps. with the 14 you can creep around 3000. A new sprocket will be roughly $25, but you will need to have the rear hub spanner to slack the chain, and then re-set the tension when done - for a DIY install that is.

You can also pick up front and rear axle sliders for not too much for some more protection.

-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
