The kick stand on my 2010 appears to be way too short.  The bike looks like it's going to fall over on it's left side.  I can fix this but I'd like to know if others noticed this problem.  I need to add a 1/2" to get it to sit right.

I think there are a couple of companies that make longer ones if you want to go aftermarket

I recently raised the height of my s4 by 25 mm and had to lengthen the kick stand this is how I did it hope this helps the after market lengthened stands were a tad exspensive for me at $145.

i never really understood why guys did that...i always felt better having the thing leaned over on the stand, rather than standing straight up - i feel like if it's pretty much straight up all it takes is one little knock to tip it over to the right...

The issue is when you raise the rear ride height, the bike leans sooooo far over on the stand that it becomes unstable and/or will no longer stand up on the kick stand. While raising the rear ride height often results in the desired handling change, a longer kick stand is needed. I went the same route as Nero on my M620 and my 748. My Monster will definitely not stand up on the stock kick stand by itself.
