My step son and his buddies have good old fashion team on team battles... probably similar to paint gun battles. Except it's in my front yard. I make them dress up with sweat shirts or light coats and no shorts. Also bought a gaggle of cheap clear shooting glasses from Dillon. No glasses, no long sleve stuff then you don't get to shoot. [evil] And it's all eco-bio-degradable Airsoft ammo. Don't want to have to sweep up 1000s of Airsoft bbs.

Junior did manage to shoot out the side mirror on my Suburban at my family's cabin in New Mexico this summer after he finished his Boy Scout trek at Philmont Ranch. It was an accident but made proof you need protective clothing, head wear and glasses. He and his friend just flat wore it out! If a black bear had ever shown up (which they do) they would have been suffered a salvo of Airsoft pellets! [laugh]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Try BB gun fights.  :D One pump only, but they'll still make you a believer.

Yup, that's how we used to do it back in the day. When you got hit you damn sure knew it. [clap]

Of course that was also years before bicycle helmets & safety covers for the outlets in the house, YMMV.....

Who is Judd?

I thought the correct spelling was: Troll?

Ok, paintball background here... so I've got some questions

Most times when you're hit you know it and the majority of folks call out. But, many times in the heat of things folks would not notice a valid hit on a less sensitive portion of the body, or you'd take a hit in some part of gear, like a ammo tube on your back and be totally unaware of it. There's refs out and you can call for a paint check for yourself or another player. Ref come's, looks and let's you play on or calls you out. How's airsoft rules address this?

Also, in paintball there are common instances where one is hit, but the ball does not break. In that event the player who is hit is *not* eliminated - the ball must break to be an eliminating hit. There something like this in airsoft?

-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

I don't get it? Why are  you calling me a mythical creature that lives under a bridge and collects a surcharge for people that cross the bridge? Is that some sort of inside joke?

A person and joke that predates your joining the board. Just shake your head and mutter 'Old folks are weird'

heuuu ...airsoft BB really hurt !! :o pinball's hare large thus transferring the energy on a lot larger surface .....but BB it's like being it by little knives's !! ...OK, if your at 100 feet it hurts lot less.... but still [roll].... and there hare ref's to

airsoft is a game of frairplay so if you cheat it's like cheating on yourself so why bother get all that gear  ... yes airsoft player's are "gear freak's" ...  ;D [popcorn]

no... close.  Quebecois.
*snort* Nice...

Paintballs also weigh a lot more... it's the ones that don't break that you really notice. I've had some punch holes in shirts and flay some skin. Not sayin' airsoft doesn't hurt as I've been shot with them... but at 40 feet I think I'd rather take 20 airsoft BBs than 20 paintballs...

So how's a ref settle a dispute like one player claims to have scored a hit on another player - Player A thinks he's gotten Player B. But B *honestly* claims no hit? Not talking about cheaters ignoring hits - the PB analogue is 'wipers'
