796 14t sprocket installed

Hands down the best mod I've done to date. Took about half an hour to swap out ( took the method of taking off the rear set) and cost $30. It doesnt get much better. I would highly suggest this mod to anyone with a 796.

What sprocket part number did you use?  I have a 2011 796 ABS and I understand there are different part #s for different years and with or without ABS??

M-HYM-796.  If you go on monsterparts the options in did in order were:

Model: MONSTER-HYPER-796

Teeth: 14

Width: 525

Did you install it yourself?  No special tools aside from basic metric wrenches/torque bar needed?

yup no special tools needed. You are going to need some larger sockets ( cant remember what size off the top of my head) to get the left rearset/passenger peg assembly off though.

The only problem I've run into so far is my clutch is dragging after the install due to the fact that I took off the slave cylinder to get to the sprocket. Not a huge deal, just have to bleed it. (figured that out with the help of the good people of the forum    )

You will need the spanner to rotate the rear wheel hub to loosen the chain for the install and re-tighten it after.

Thank you for clarifying that, I thought there was some sort of special tool needed.  Will any Ducati eccentric hub wrench do or is there one specific to the 796/1100 SSS?

The best I know the 796/1100 are similar to 748/916/996/998 + Hyper + Multi1000/1100

Completed this install over the weekend using the AFAM 14T from Monsterparts.com.  Fit perfectly.  Removing the rearset on the 796 seemed like a must; and also required to thoroughly clean the grime out of the recessed area.  My bike only has 3k miles and I was surprised how much crap had accumulated in that short time.  Tip...remember which bolt goes to which hole in the rearset or you will have problems...ask me why I know

Results:  Simply amazing transformation for the money! Enough has been said about the 14T swap so I wont go on about it.  I just kick myself for not doing it earlier.  Unless you LIVE on a freeway, I cant imagine why you WOULDN'T do this mod??

Negative, that would be quite dangerous I reckon. It was on a rear stand, side stand was just flipped down to give room to work.

if you notice in the pic there is no bolt on the side stand upper hole
the bike would fall over.
