I like the way it adds to the overall balance of the look.......

I keep going back and forth with this.....I took mine off and liked the look, then I got bored, painted it and put it back on.  I like it both ways...
Go ride your bike somewhere at 80 MPH and note how quiet the airflow is; the bikini fairing isn't there for looks! My other naked is a T-100 and that beast at 70 MPH is like a hurricane by comparison.

The boys who take theirs off must be deaf already? 8)

I know it serves a purpose. I have ridden without it and while it is not a HUGE difference, I can tell a little bit.

Mine is sitting on my desk next to me, I removed it probably a year or so ago.  And yes, it is painted the same color as the rest of the body panels.

doesn't matter, your EVO will look MUCH better with the windscreen fairing on a shelf somewhere  [beer]

That's where I put mine.  :)

I was worried about extra wind issues, but I can't say I've noticed a difference.

So is it safe to remove the fairing in the UK where the weather is constantly wet?  Is it simply to deflect some wind?  I don't care about wind noise.

Besides cutting turbulence, in the U.K. I'm less than sure I'd like rain under pressure aimed at my display and wiring. Hate the think what one of those must cost..., and it controls your immobilizer too! [roll]

I've seen yu can get a cover for the wiring, so I'll be putting that on when I can find one.

Hmmm... One of those came with my bike along with the screws. Some dealers just toss them. Ask your dealer. Still not sure how much I'd trust that. Have a look. You decide.

Not really, we are still talking about the fairing that you posted in your original post....

A dealer is shipping me one, £6.  I reckon it'll be ok, but if I am slightly worried I'll use a small amount of black silicone to seal the junction as I put it on, so it'll be invisible on the outside.
