Gas tank problems?

So I just got done talking to a Porsche mechanic and we were bullshitting about bikes, i told him i have a 796, and i wasn't paying too much attention to him but he blurred something about a fuel tank problem that happens because of ethanol? and it doesn't burn correctly? something along those lines and it results in like a suction? effect on the tank...has anyone had anything remotely close to this? or heard of anything like it?
