baffles vs no baffles on termis.

I'm finally getting the termis kit on my 695, and my dealer says to install with no baffles. Are there sound bites i can hear with and without? If i think its too loud, is it tough to put back in? What has your experience been? I definitely want my exhaust to be louder then stock, but not souped up honda civic loud.

Go without. It's straightforward to put back in.

YouTube is good, but sometimes you don't get the full effect. Depends on the quality of the video. In the end, you'll have to try it yourself or find someone who has the Termis so you can hear them in person.

My shop took them out when they did the Dyno runs, but I had them put back in afterwards and it was very quick.

buddy of mine pulled them out of his s4rs lost a lot of hp and had a bunch of issues and put them back.  No baffles the thing was just mean.  Put them back in and went to remove the udder and replace it with a mid pipe.  Thing sounds good I know the 695 does not have a udder.

the shop will have to pull them out to set the mixture etc so they can insert the "sniffer" in.  I left mine out and the dbl is not outrageous, it sounds really grunty... however I kept the baffles and may put them back in for my trip to Tahoe this week as I hear the drone on the freeway without baffles can get tiring to listen to.

My shop didn't even ask, just yanked them out.   

The only time that I wish that the bike was not as loud was when I'd warm her up in the morning.

Try going up to about 6k RPM in first, then closing the throttle to engine brake back down to a standstill; once with baffles, once without (stop + go traffic style). This is what I did, and the baffles have been collecting dust ever since. The sound of a desmo engine w/non-bafffeled Termis being spun by the back wheel (engine braking) is a thing of beauty IMHO.

It shouldn't.  The air/fuel mixture may have to be adjusted though so it doesn't run too lean.

you do not loss horse power, compression or anything. You do gain a much improved exhaust note.

I don't have baffles in my 695 termis. Guy at the Ducshop looked visibly upset when I asked him whether or not I should leave baffles in. That I even contemplated it, apparently, was worrisome.

Remove baffles, wear earplugs.

If you decide you want them left in, I would still have the shop remove them before installation.  There are a couple of spot welds that hold the baffle in place and they are much easier to break loose from the entry side of the canister.  They can be reinstalled with a screw and nut.  Then, in or out, it is up to you.  Mine never made it back in.  The sound is to sweet.

thanks for all the info team. i guess i'll take it with no baffles, and see how it is. If i decide to put it in, will the ecu need additional tuning?

I notice on my bike, w/o baffles, that it wasn't the exhaust that droned, but the open airbox that was loud. Infact at cruising speed, the bike isn't all that loud.
