That right there should tell you everything that you need to know about the hits statistic in the NHL and how much it means to winning games. It's tough to hit people when you always have the puck. You know what else happens when you have the puck a lot?

7: The number of games they have won by at least two goals. Which is actually kind of surprising.

Ouch, that had to hurt. 

- New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal will be sidelined indefinitely with a serious eye injury he sustained after being hit in the face by a puck, the team said on Wednesday.

Staal was hit in the right eye by a deflected puck while playing against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, an injury that saw him collapse on the ice before skating off bleeding.

"The injury has improved significantly and (doctors) are optimistic that Marc will make a full recovery," the Rangers said in a statement.

Im surprised no one has posted this yet. Realignment has been approved by NHLPA and looking to start next season. Best part is Wings are back in the East. WooHoo

Overall that looks about right. Not sure I like the names of the Eastern divisions though (Boston in central?? Columbus in atlantic??)

I agree but the big thing is that the Wings are back in the East which will dramatically affect the playoffs (if they make it). The travel schedule alone killed them. I also like Wings/Leafs rivalry which will certainly reignite.
