Breaking a little to hard maybe.

gravity sucks :) but my guess it's too much front brake at just the wrong time....looks like the front end "buckles" a little then the rear goes.
Can you imagine a world without a Ducati???  I think it's called Hell. :)

Grampa

panic front brake as the guy in front slows
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

Late pass, locked up front wheel because he underestimated closing speed to the next rider.  Bike wasn't going in a straight line.

I watched one of my buddies do the same thing from about 3 feet back.  Just freaked out and grabbed too much front brake.  Front tucked and he was instantly on the ground.

did he downshift?

just a feeling from teh way the wheel pulled and seems to bounce.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

okay, I got my mouse positioned at the 10 sec mark so I could see it again and again...My guess is sand on the left side of the road.  At 11 sec the bike seem to slide towards the center before the rear lost traction.  Maybe he lost traction in the sand then chopped throttle in a panic and unloaded the rear which kick it out?
???

Correct me if I'm wrong, but by the dust lifted from the back wheel it looks like a rear tire blowout !?!?!?

He grabbed the brakes too hard...

The deceptive part about it is the bike in front and the camera bike are already sorta hard on the anchors. Normally you'd expect the gap to close between the camera bike and the bike in front, but the camera bike is maintaining the same distance. Watch the rear ride height to see when the front bike is on the brakes.

The 3rd bike passes the camera bike under braking, and probably realizes he wont get past the other, so tries to slot in behind. He was already braking hard like the others, that little bit extra pressure locked the front and he went down... oops  :-\

Edit: watched again. Now I'm not so sure...  ???

That's what it looks like to me, as well.

About the same time you're dragging your knees through a series of tight left-right-handers on Sunday afternoon, some guy in white shoes is sweating a 3-foot putt. Go figure.

Like others have said prolly heavy brake hand

Btu I'm guessing he is the only one who will ever know.
