Well... looks like the DoD needs me in Oklahoma.

Tinker AFB to be precise.

Got a job offer today. My unit here NOW wants me to stay and says they want to TRY and transfer me to another position (mine got cut).

What do you think? Bird in hand?

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Have you ever actually BEEN to Oklahoma?

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Jerry it all depends on whether you want to stay in europe or go back to the states, you know that WDW2014 wouldn't be on the callender if you're on the other side of the pond... [bang]

BTW its great being retired... [thumbsup]

Oklahoma?  Umm err no offense to those from the Okie Ste but all I gotta say  is "Oklahoma?"
Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.
Feel free to PM me if needed, otherwise you will find me elsewhere.

give the current unit the amount of time you have before
the OK offer closes.  if no new job is firm by then, don't turn
down a sure thing (IMHO).

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

weli guess I should say that I have lived in OK before and my sister lives in Tulsa and parents plan on retiring there as well.

so all in all, it's not the location that's an issue... it's the empty promise of them wanting me to stay, but having no firm paperwork/offer saying so.

As long as you know what you're in for...

Start packing....

This.

On the plus side, it'll put you within striking distance for DITR.

the village is calling, pick up.  I'm not a resident but have been all over the State and must say there are some great roads there and the people are nice to boot PLUS you can open carry!

if you end up there let the local DFWM board know.  We do trips into the Oachita mountains and Eureka Springs, AR, sometimes.  I need another excuse to ride anyway.  Good luck.

I've spent some time in Okc, and it's a pretty nice place.

Brick town is fun, there's a burgeoning craft food and beer scene that is pretty awesome. The locals are pretty laid back.

Right next to tinkers there's a park that has a really pretty lake and some bad ass MTB trails.

I used to be a hater, until I went there. Okc has a lot going for it. I wouldn't mind living there for a bit.
