Evotech tail Canadian plate?

I finally got around to installing my Evotech tail, only to discover that there was no plate adapter included with my kit.  So, it looks great on the bike, but I can't ride without my license plate.  lol

At any rate, I read somewhere that the Evotech U.S. adapters don't work with Canadian plates; can anyone confirm whether or not this is true?  I cannot test this since mine did not come with any adapter whatsoever.  I also noticed that there is a different set of adapters on the Evotech U.K. site (http://www.evotech-performance.com/number-plate-licence-plate-adaptor), which may (or may not) work.  I need a solution pretty quickly because I want to get back to riding.  I may have to rig something temporary up with double-faced tape.

It's illegal to alter our number plates.  I doubt they would pull me over for having drilled holes that don't interfere with the numbers in any way, but you never know.

Use two strips of double-sided foam tape to mount then. Works great although you may have to use a blade if you need to remove that plate at a later date!

On the older ones, the fender assembly consisted of several pieces... do any of the stock pieces come apart and offer the correct bolt spacing?

Unfortunately, no.  I purchased it over a year ago, and it must have been from a european source; it seems the U.S. version comes with an adapter plate but mine was absent this piece.

Otherwise use some industrial strength velcro (real velcro brand stuff), heavy duty with thick teeth for super hold but still removable if needed. Homdepot should carry it.

i've googled canadian number plate holder and there's 50million potential solutions... but I don't know the problem.

hell, i had to turn the edges in when i had my Roads Italia exhaust on to avoid the plate rubbing against them.
then i also bent the top to fit the mount.
when i turned them in they looked at me wierd, but gave me new ones.
this is in germany on base, but i've been stopped by german cops (they said the angle of the plate was too much) and they never ticketed me.

Unfortunately, the bracket isn't wide enough.  I had to drill holes in the bracket that came with the WASP tail chop I had on my Sport 1000; it just came with a plate with no holes at all.

I have some 'SuperLock' velcro-type stuff which holds incredibly well, but I would be more concerned with the adhesive letting go while riding. 

I could always get some twine and use it to fasten the plate temporarily.

Guess you missed my suggestion above?! 14 years ago I resolved this problem on my Morgan Plus 8 because I didn't want to drill the alloy panel on my car. Used two strips of double-sided foam tape..., and..., wait for it..., my plate is STILL there! And that's on the back of a 4-wheel motorcycle.

The tape you can buy at any decent auto parts store and it would certainly work in this situation. I also used plastic plate screws and nuts to "finish off" the look and just trimmed the screws with a bolt cutter. That way, no one will think they can just pull the plate off the bike..., which they couldn't.

I would get a small piece of metal and bend up something that looks like the bottom half of this:
