After the woes and trouble with my S4 from the R/R failing, head gasket leak and valve adjustments needed after purchase, I just wasn't confident that it wouldn't fail for some reason or another.  Top all that off with the rear sliding out from behind when leaning in.

However, while deliberating as to what I should do with my S4, I found this S4R and it just felt right.

Despite having to replace the R/R shortly after purchasing, everything has been dandy since then.  Rides like a dream and has more torque than I know what to do with.

With only 4K miles on the bike, the PO didn't do much and what he did do was ehhh at best. The D&D pipes are gone and replaced with a Marving System that will later be swapped for either an Arrow or ExBox. The PCIII that was installed but not tuned has now been sorted out to eliminate the bottom end surging and fueling issue. Other bits have been changed here and there. But that's the fun in it I guess.

Congrats on having something that finally feels right.  Cannot wait to see what you do with this bike.

Oh and I vote ExBox btw.  I heart the open rear wheels with the SSS, and the ExBox only accentuates that.  Didn't see a poll option on this thread, so I was forced to plop my opinion right here :)

I'd be really worried about oil starvation, running it upside down like that.

Replacing the stock spring in my OEM Showa shock. Tech recommends a 7 inch, 425lb hypercoil spring.  I'm 164 without gear and the primary use will be for daily fun and weekend twisties.  Don't want it to be too stiff as DC doesn't have the smoothest pavement but dont want it to be mush either.  Does the spring he wants to use make sense?

I replaced the stock spring with an Ohlins 01091 31/95, which has a 95kg/mm rate. That works very well for me.

Spring ordered from Kyle Racing.  Should be here tomorrow.  Will see how it gets along with the bike and me soon enough.

Speedymoto triple arrived from JEFF_H over the weekend and I was able to finally convince a forum member to sell me his CycleCat rearsets and DP gel seat. Used a hacksaw and some other tools to shorten the "S" pipes on the exhaust to make the lines flow better.  That was a bit of fun.  Looks much cleaner without the two pipes hangin out the back.

Now I just have to be patient enough and take my time this weekend installing parts.  The new Ohlins spring arrived earlier this week, so it should be a good time getting everything sorted out for a Sunday ride.
