Out of curiosity the other day when I was filling up the M620, I did a quick calculation for the mpg number:

63.3333/mpg in mixed city and highway use (2.7 gallons, 171 miles - with some fuel still in the tank).

Does anyone else have fuel mileage numbers they'd care to share?

I've been seeing 38 MPG lately

I'm at about mid 40's most of the time. If I avoid the parking lots they call freeways, I can get upper 40's/50ish.  :P

svoloch

around 40mpg, but I have not been really accurately calculating.  oddly enough, 85 mph in 5th gear seems to net me the best mileage, and the display shows that about 47mpg.

Around town, hitting plenty of stoplights I've calculated right about 45mpg. My current tank has a lot more  highway though, so I'm curious to see what that's going to do to my numbers.

I get 32-38 mpg cruising/commuting on the 1098.
I've gotten as low as 21 on it, but I was really working it hard.

The old FCR carburated 900SS gets mid-50's regularly, with a best of 61.5 on a trip to Padre Island a couple of years ago.
I leaned the air-bleeds out for that trip (easy, just a turn of a screw on the FCR's).
Like Patric said 85-90MPH seems to be the best speed.

In about 1300 miles this month I have been very consistently between 43-46.

Damn I need a commuter bike.  All you guys are running well over 40MPG.  I was happy to make 100 miles on 2.7gallons.

ST4S w/watercooled 996cc motor, 115 RWHP regularly 46-48 MPG, best 51 MPG hiway @ nothing more than 75MPH
916 w/watercooled 996cc motor, 120 RWHP regularly 44-46 MPG, best 49 MPG hiway @ nothing more than 75MPH
M1000 w/aircooled 992 motor, 86 RWHP regularly 34-36 MPG, best 40 MPG hiway @ nothing more than 75MPH

I had expected more from the Monster but there it is.  The heavier, faired bikes with bigger, more highly tuned motors get better mileage.  Maybe the Monster is running too rich?

S2R 800 gets about 44 MPG.

S4RS gets around 35 MPG.

Both MPGs are mixed highway and city streets.

I get 30-34mpg on the 1098 with full Termis and the race ECU. My Honda VFR gets around 36mpg. Both are mixed highway and city riding.  :-\ It would sure be nice to get 40+mpg again. My 600rr and 599 did that consistantly. [moto]

Haven't watched the numbers lately but
2006 Sport 1000 - 32-38 MPG (mixed around town and highway)
I suspect the highway mileage has gotten a bit worse since going +3 on the rear.

That's another thing I should add about the 620:

Stock 46T rear sprocket  :o
14T front sprocket.

What would happen mpg-wise if I went back to the stock 15T front?
