Usually on the weekends we'll take a few hour drive, wandering in pretty much the same manner I do when I take a bike out.
Yesterday we decided to drive around and see the results of the heavy rain the past few days. I ended up on some of the pretty rough roads that I seek out with the KTM as the main roads in many places got washed away. On some of these roads, I had to use the hill descent mode and creep and crawl over some pretty rough stuff. In retrospect I should have jumped out to grab a pic with her car straddling the bad stuff but it was getting dark and we wanted to head home.

thanks  ;D

btw, these pictures pale in comparison to the worst flooding I ever saw around here.

Here compare a pic of the Roebling bridge with this nightmare picture from a bunch of years back

So you drive hours all week for work and then you drive hours for fun!  [thumbsup]

yup
that's why although my wife works about a half mile from him and her car is only 2 years old, it has just short of 30k on it already
She has zero interest with being on a bike (I'll fix that one day by getting something with a sidecar) so we wander all over creation in her car.

We were coming home from a late lunch today and navigating roads that had little rivers running across as it was raining intensely again.
We came across this and pulled into a parking lot to take some pictures. You're looking at the back parking lot of the Hawley Post Office. We'd have to cross this new lake to get to Route 6. We didn't feel it was worth the risk, so I backtracked and went another way. The minivan you see the back of in the one picture did not survive the crossing, it made it through but died right after.

These look like fun places to ride.

They are, with all the heavy rain lately though you just need to keep the speed down a bit as there is gravel washed onto the road in corners where you don't usually expect it. No dragging knees in blind corners right now.  [cheeky]
