I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

a 41mp camera doesnt make the phone any good

it could be 100mp doesnt meant the camera or the phone are any good

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

That is what I was thinking. That is an awfully small sensor for that pixel density. And with a tiny lens to boot.

Same. I had pretty-much every high-end Nokia from the 2110 to the N95. They were once incredibly good. But at some point they decided that all anyone really wanted was interchangeable covers, and that was the end of that.

Yes...

Time to start working on optics...

Regardless, IZ's pics will still be IZ_.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I have seen some amazingly clear photos taken on an older 5MP DSLR that blow away images taken on 12-15MP point-and-shoots.  The difference was the glass my friend had on that DSLR.  Once you get beyond roughly 1MP, the glass makes all the difference.

True! My Pentax DSLR is truely amazing at 12.5MP. For most things though, I just grab a 12MP Pentax point and shoot. It does have an SMC lens, and that works fine for me. Many cheaper point and shoots don't have lenses made by an actual 'Glass' maker. The better ones have SMC, Zeis and the like and work fine. But no, not as well as a DSLR with a larger image sensor and better glass.

At some point, it doesn't matter what the MP number is, if the sensor isn't large enough and the glass not well made it's pointless.

I hear Nokia is working on an endorsement deal with Anthony Weiner

I'll only take it seriously if it comes with a lens cap. Dirty glass will ruin it all.

It's much more than just a 41MP sensor though. The sensor itself is among the largest ever fitted to a smartphone. It has a very good Optical Image Stabilization system. But the neatest trick is its "oversampling," where it combines information from multiple pixels into one pixel of the output image, which is 5 MP. Sure it's going to be not as good as an actual DSLR, but it definitely is the best smartphone for photography.

I've had quite a few Nokias in my life too, and while the company has made some truly stupid mistakes, over and over again, I wouldn't doubt their cameras. That's traditionally been a good Nokia attribute.

In my business we call that "compression".  ;)
