I've used it for two years and was notified while someone tried to take out credit twice.  They call my cell to confirm information.   Even buying my truck last yer they were tough in me when they called.  I get reports every month on activity, it's worked for me.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I get a complimentary subscription through work because there was a security breach involving a lot of employee data.

I've probably had it 6 or 7 years.

I do get alerts if I open a new account, run a credit check, etc.

I did have fraudulent charges on one of my cards, however and they didn't catch that (maybe they don't).

Triple J

We got it after our house was broken into and computer was stolen last Christmas. Seems OK, as you get alerts anytime something happens involving your credit. Not sure how long we'll keep it though.

That and those like them are selling a service, so are on the expensive side of the spectrum.  i.e. they check your credit reports for you.  The cheaper alternative is to pull your credit reports yourself (one free per year) and buy identity theft insurance to cover the tangible time/expenses of dealing with a security breach should one happen.

They don't check your credit reports, they put a fraud alert on it and require a phone call whenever a new line is opened.

Which you can do yourself . . .
