And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

I hit a standard poodle once on a 250 Suzuki @60+mph.  I was to slow and too inexperienced to do anything but hit it.  Somehow (most likely due to doing nothing) the bike and I and the girl on the back ended up on the side of the road completely upright.  We were 100% good, the dog was not :'(

Momentum, how much you do when it happens, size of the bike, so many variables......

RE: studded tires
[laugh]  I want those for winter riding on the GC.

A buddy of mine from back in CT used to ride his dual sport in the winter with "custom" studded tires. He just went to Home Depot and got a buch of self tapping sheet metal screws. Took him abount an hour to do both front and rear...

I've thought about doing that.  Gotta get it past wifey, though... she's not big on the idea of me riding on snow/ice.  It's not keeping the bike upright she's worried about.  It's the idiot cagers slip-sliding all over the place and potentially taking me out.

That deerstrike video is wild.  Speaking of deerstrikes, I clipped one in the Sky yesterday.  Doesn't appear to have damaged the car, but it sure tripped up the deer.  Around the next bend, I had to throw out the anchor for a big buck mule deer that wasn't smart enough to exit the road... started running along my path of travel in front of me.  Modern rifle season opens this weekend.  I'm looking forward to the herds being thinned a bit.

Saw a deer bolt across turn eight at Willow once.  If you hit a deer at the track is was sooo not your day......

I think it depends on the bike and how the suspension is setup....

or if you can get the front wheel up before impact.   [evil]

I can thoroughly affirm that squirrels are decidedly more "slickery" than mice and rats.

"And Atgatt courted Motgatt, and took her for a wife.
And lo, he compromised with Atgmott, and verily she conceived,
and did bear a son, Notgatt. And Notgatt roamed naked,
and did bequeath his skin to the roads. And he was a wild ass and an outcast,
and was hated through all the land.
And his forehead was branded, and he did become a sign
and a warning to all the people."

I was told if you can eat it in one sitting don't swerve.  IMO, you can go a bit larger.

So much for the "deer season" theory.  Bucks all went into hiding but the does and fawns are still out and being as stupid as ever.  I went and looked at the rules... in this region, it's buck only, 3-pt minimum.  The does have nuthin' to worry about.  [bang]

Had a young'n eating in the back yard just this morning.  Looked right at me through the master bedroom window when I got up this morning... then went right back to eating.  [roll]

I am in deer central.  Every morning I fly I see about a dozen running out from bushes near a fairly busy road.  I have actually had to be careful to not scare them into the road.  They don't like the noise of the burners much.....

Almost got one last week,  Mid day, big buck standing int he road, just staring at me until I came to a stop.  Then he jumped out of the way.

One less grey squirrel alive today. I think it was suicide. It paused at the curb, then sprinted about 8' to make it under the tires of my car. I don't swerve for something that small. [coffee]
