or
General purpose riding on a Monster (specific model TBD) ???

Since you already have a SBK--track plastics needed?--I'd go for the Monster as the second bike...my $0.02.  [moto]

...not a bad dilemma, though.  ;)

True... but the idea of tossing the the 848, race plastic or otherwise, doesnt sit well with me. But your idea means I can have both ;D ... I like it!

If you bought the 748, you'd have two water-cooled 8 valve bikes, right?

Cha-ching maintenance-wise, and a limited riding season to boot because of the excessive under-seat heat those bikes generate  :o

Now if you could find a good air-cooled 4 valve Monster (M1000), you'd have pretty much year round riding capability for less money when it comes time to service the bike.

Get maybe an older one with Ohlins suspension and high mount exhuast.  Then add some rear sets to pull the pegs up a bit and voila, competent track bike that you're less afraid of throwing down the road as opposed to a full-up SBK.

Nice dilemma though  [thumbsup]

848 on the street is pure adrenalin induced frenzy all while looking sexy as hell. Not to sure about tracking it, was initially going to until I came across the 748.

Sounds like you're pretty serious about tracking? Save the sex for the street, & track the 748 with less fear of dropping it [thumbsup]

(Cher just needs more coffee [cheeky] )

How serious are you about track riding? 1 or 2 days/year, or 10 - 12 days/year?

I know several people afraid to really ride their shiny new SBKs on the track for fear of dropping their new bling-bling.

Pretty serious, to the point I would almost sale off all of my guns to pay for it... I cant believe I just said that. As for how may times a year, hard to say but certainly more than 1 or 2.
