Comming up on the 1 year aniversary of getting rid of cable.   [drink]

Can't believe its been almost a year...I don't even miss it at all.

This thread ties back into the Amazon one...since in about 5 years Amazon plans to make cable obsolete anyway!  ;D

No tv or cable for the last 7 years. Over the past 22 years I have had TV for maybe a total of 3 years.

I didn't say that I don't have a TV. I just finished the last season of My Name is Earl on dvd.

Congrats!

No Cable for me since 2003, and the TV has been in the barn since 2010.

Which is not to say that I don't find ways to watch once in a while.....just not at home.

Almost a year without DirectTV.   

Seems like we watch just as much TV though having Netflix and an antenna for the local stations  [thumbsdown]

Its true, I still use my brothers subscription to Netflix, but I really just watch movies.  Since I can read the news on the interwebs, and I don't watch sports of any kind, I have no use for any stations, local or otherwise. 

The funny part is my girlfriend moves in beginning of summer, were trying to figure out what to do with two 50" plasmas when we have no cable and barely watch enough to justify ONE tv...

My wife and I decided not to get cable or satellite when we moved into our place together when we got married.

I don't miss it at all.

So far (almost 7 months), there hasn't been a single thing I've wanted to watch live that I couldn't find streaming on the internet for free.

Most sporting events that I care about, I go watch at a bar with friends.  But several MotoGP races that were early in the morning, or World Series games when I had to work the next day, no problem finding them online.  Along with a couple of new episodes of The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels when I didn't feel like going out to watch them.



I have a 65" LCD screen that I only use for playing Grand Theft Auto and watching things on Netflix.  I need to figure out how to stream things off the internet through my PS3 so I can stop watching them on my laptop.

I have to be coming close to the 1 year mark with no cable. With Netflix and Amazon its no big deal.
