Like the title says... talk to me.  [popcorn]

I can't say anything nice about the non-cleaning tasmanian devil that has been masquerading as a useful machine for the last year and a half... yes, that's when I bought it.

Stainless exterior is the only design requirement not linked to the name of the thing.  ;D

ASKO!!!
Their model line is less than self-explanatory, and their website is pretty chock full of useless code (in other words, it loads slowly and crashes my internet connection).

Can you expound on the virtues of this Asko?

I see that the KitchenAid Superba gets good reviews.  Are we talking it "just works" or does it have snazzy things that make it more cooler?  How's reliability?

Cleans stuff well, no visible buttons as all the controls are on the top edge, I don't know, how much more can a dishwasher do?  [laugh]

We've had it awhile with no issues.

See, I was asking myself that question as I was reading all the ridiculous claims on dishwasher company websites...

On a side note, why do dishwasher manufacturers have to employ the latest bandwidth-sucking internet baubles?  I want to know about your dishwasher, not see some exciting animated depiction of your Lean manufacturing process in 4k HD 2037 future web trick codec.

I fill the sink with hot soapy water and wash the dishes. Easy, does not break and cheap!

That's not true... My dishwasher (girlfriend) routinely breaks my dishes following the exact method you supplied.

If it was up to me my dishwasher would become a cabinet.

We have an LG.  Quiet, holds a lot, been reliable.  One flaw I can think of.  No "clean" light.  Do check, I don't know if it is still true, but as of a few years ago Kitchen Aid, Maytag and Whirlpool were all based on the same mechanicals and had the same fatal flaw.  The food chopper was attached to the pump.  If something got caught in the chopper causing it to jam the cheaper chopper would survive but the expensive pump wouldn't.  I don't know what the other brands did to solve the problem but Whirlpool's fix was to shorten the warranty on the pump.  My first choice since I can't follow LMT's advice would be Bosch.

What he said  ^^^^^^^  We had a relatively new  whirlpool.  What a pain in the ass.  I had to work on it every six months.

We switched to a Bosch over 5 years ago.  It's been flawless since we bought it.

We liked it so much we bought a Bosch washer and dryer.

Speedbag

I've got a 20-year-old Whirlpool that's on its last legs, so I've been looking too.....

My mom has a new Bosch that's pretty awesome, you can hardly hear the thing run. I'm leaning that way too.

We have a Miele.  It cleans well and and has put in around 5 years of reliable service (fan motor replaced under warranty early on - not coz it failed but coz it got noisy, been fine since).  The thing I like most about it is that it has a top shelf cutlery tray instead of the more usual basket.  The thing I like least is that - for reasons of energy efficiency -  it's uses residual heat from the washing process to dry the dishes.  Which works fine on everything except plastic.  Everything plastic always comes out wet  :-\   But at least global warning will be delayed by an immeasurably puny amount  [thumbsup].

Miele makes great stuff.  Here in the US owning one is a little like owning a Ducati.  Dealers and service can be sparse in much of the country.

It's all in the numbers... ;D

And the only reason I'm
Singing you this song now is cause you may know somebody in a similar
Situation, or you may be in a similar situation, and if your in a
Situation like that there's only one thing you can do and that's walk into
The shrink wherever you are ,just walk in say "Shrink, You can get
Anything you want, at Alice's restaurant.". And walk out. You know, if
One person, just one person does it they may think he's really sick and
They won't take him. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony,
They may think they're both faggots and they won't take either of them.
And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in
Singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. They may think it's an
Organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day,I said
Fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and
Walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.

My Aunt and Uncle are big fans of Wolf Appliances.  Really nicely setup racks, cleans dishes incredibly well and no more reliable than anything else.  Five years after install it needs a pump.
Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.
