Questions for some of the 696 riders out there

Been on my 696 now for a bit over a month and made it through the 600 mile break in (she currently has 1380). Took her in and had her checked out. Clean bill of health and full break in service was done.

First off let me say that I love the bike (696 Dark). Now for the questions:

1-- Has anyone heard the engine noise getting consistently louder? This has been grabbing my attention of late; especially when I am at idle.

2-- Have you felt the shift between gears getting a bit rougher? This is definitely the case on my bike. The shift used to be seamless and now I can feel the gears fall into place especially when I shift from first to second. This feeling is enhanced at higher revs.

Any input would be appreciated. Or maybe I am just getting hyper sensitive to the way my bike sounds..

 No dif on engine noise and I have close to the same as you. The shifting may be related to mine as it is stuck in 5th gear now.

Be careful with the shifting getting worse. Mine did this and ended up getting stuck in second gear. If I were you I may take it in to the dealer to have the internal linkage adjusted. This may save you the hastle of getting it stuck in gear. Mine was not adjusted correctly from the factory.
