So I get this Christmas card...

from Denver.

Something about a gift of chestnut decking, donning PIF leathers, and falalalala.

But...how could they know we picked chestnut? The plot thickens. It appears you guys went as far as to enlist my supplier in this conspiracy. I couldn't figure out why he was in such a hurry for me to pick a color when I won't be ready for the product until spring.

I'm a fairly good painter, and can fake carpentry. I'm a lousy estimator though. When we started this house project I had a number...I was only off by about 60%. Everything cost more and took longer than I planned, and while building was delayed prices rose even more. I've completely run out of money once and things are getting really tight again.

This house is all about Zip and is a labor of love. A little more love just got thrown into the mix.

You guys can't imagine how appreciative and even more humbled we are.

I've learnt this in the years I've been a DMFer  . . .

I've learnt that being a DMFer is not only talkng about bikes and the weird weather we have in our "homes" or if one is crazy enough to travel 18+hrs to attend DIMBY and then have to make you wake up at 0300h and drive me to the airport . . .
