Rotary valve engines have been around almost as long as internal combustion engines.  Great idea if someone gets it to be reliable.  Less parts, less rotating mass, less friction loss, and the ability to run incredibly high compression ratios.

How does the engine stay in the frame? I see no mounts?

Has to be through the lower frame section into some bosses on the cases
