All of the "Open" guys are at Quatar, well, except for Dovi and Cal......

Aleix currently top of the pile with a 1:55.386.

What's that you say?
Is that a good lap time?

That would have put him in the middle of the 2nd row at last year's race.

In less sophisticated times, travelers (e.g., Jane Goodall) to less civilized parts of the world had their appendix removed to avoid a likely death, should a case of appendicitis strike in the middle of the jungle.

Maybe aspiring MC racers all ought to have their collarbones reinforced with some titanium hardware before the age of 12….

I was wondering where you were going with the whole appendicitis thing.

They should replace the collarbone with some adamantium. You would have thought that the leather providers would figure out how to create some sort of reinforced shoulder thing.

I think that's pretty much what they are trying to do with the airbag thing... all of the airbag systems seem to expand around the neck/collarbone/shouders.  Just comes down to luck on how you land I guess.

I just ran this thought process by an orthopedic surgeon colleague. He approves.

Or remove it altogether. That would make for a more aerodynamic tuck.

I dunno - strengthen one part, and you pass along the breakage to the next weakest part. The nice thing about collarbones is that they heal fast.

Great minds think alike…..please tell your OS friend that I get 10% royalties on any procedures he recommends, based on my concept.  I'm getting old and my retirement savings account isn't what it was before 2009  ;D

Won't their heads be bobbing all over the place, once some of those neck muscles have no where to hold onto anymore?  [clap]
