the US ( I can only speak of the US because it's where I reside), is the perfect storm of celebrity, stupidity, mixed messages and a fear of failure.

and that's why you see shit like this happening here.

people killing each other is nothing new.  first they did it with rocks, then, when they figured out how to make a stick pointy, that was the new "it" weapon...and so on and so on.

high body counts get you on the news. news and violence make for instant celebrity, and we here in "merica" love celebrities.

we also have a love/hate relationship with just about everything.

violence is bad.... violence in movies good.... violence in games good.

sex is bad..... sex sells, so inject it into everything.

drugs are bad.... worship the celebrities and athletes that use them.

greed is bad.... worship the bling

but the worst of it is.... we love to poke fun of failure in others, all the while never allowing kids to learn the value of failure.

kids grow up being protected from failure, being told thier shit does'nt stink, then when the reality of life slaps them in the face, the kids ( and many adults) snap because they are ill equipped to handle the stresses of reality.

until we stop bubble wrapping kids,  and sending out these idiotic mixed messages, I don't see an end to this.

take away all the guns and knives.... and you'll soon have a 15 day waiting period on buying a pet rock.
