HOOLGN no longer with me

The license plate buds.  [laugh] The bike's OK. Got to the shop this morning and after parking the bike I noticed something looked different. All of a sudden I was wondering "Did I put a licence plate relocater on this bike?" The rear end looked bare. Then I picked up on the obvious -- the plate and safety check were missing. Bracket cracked right off. It was on the bike this morning when I left home so it's out there on the highway somewhere between Kailua and the shop. Maybe I should take the bicycle up the Pali and look for it. Nah.

Funny thing when I went to Satelite City Hall they had the license listed to a Toyota in Ewa Beach. I thought I got that all cleared up back when I got the plate. Originally when they gave me the plate and handed the registration to me I said "that's the right plate and all but it's a Ducati not a Toyota and I don't live in Ewa Beach". So they fixed it right there on the spot. They even renewed the registration and send it to my proper address but today the counter clerk got a real puzzled look on her face and asked "Is this a motorcycle?" I knew right then and there it was showing as a Toyota and sure enough it was. I said let's avoid confusion and so I got a regular plate.  Now I can be anonymous once again.

Glad to hear that you are still operational.  Alex called the DMV for me about my DRKWNG plate, and they told her that I would have to retire the plate and then hope that it would still be available.  Does that sound legit to you guys?

My beloved CORSE plate broke off during a cruise in Feb, between Sandy's and UH. Reported it lost at HPD, thought about getting another CORSE, but decided to get something else. I didn't want some schmuck picking up the lost plate, committing a crime with it, and witnesses glimpse CORSE, then the cops show up at my doorstep with a warrant.  :P Even if I could prove it was a misunderstanding, well the point is I'd have to go through the trouble of proving myself innocent.

had the plates transfered from the dub to the benz w/no issues... you 'own' the custom plate until you retire it. I don't see how bikes would be different from cars in that respect

DRKWNG

Well that's good news then.  Cheers.

Correctomundo. It's yours.  In my case there were actually two HOOLGN plates out there. One on my bike and one on a car. How they did that is beyond me but they did. I didn't want a cop possibly running the plate and wondering why it came up a Toyota when he had a bike on his hands. Too many questions.
