Legal formation though.

Using under-pressure balls isn't legal (although I doubt it made any difference...that was a beating).

The ball issue is the league's problem. The rule that offenses provide their own game balls, and don't use each others during the game, is absurd and encourages cheating. I can't believe that all of the balls for a game aren't just thrown into a bin together and picked at random.

Not legal the way I read it. Rule changed in '09...rule 6-1-3c

One player has to be outside the numbers on each side.

I agree about the ball rules...that's just stupid.

I agree about the ball rules...that's just stupid.

One person was outside of the numbers on each side. The rule doesn't state that only one person can be outside the numbers, just that one must be outside the numbers. Hawks have 4 outside the numbers on the right side. There is no rule against bunching the players outside the number line (apparently there used to be). Legal.



Per the rulebook: "At least 4 players of the kicking team must be on each side of the kicker. At least three players must be lined up outside each inbounds line, one of whom must be outside the yard-line number."

Sean Peyton lost an entire season over bounty-gate. I'm not a Pats fan, but I HAD a great deal of respect for Bellicek and Brady. Now I am losing that respect. I'd like to see Billy boy serve a suspension of 8 regular season games and the Super Bowl.

He's already been caught cheating twice. How many times were there when he cheated but didn't get caught?  ???

Maybe...doesn't matter though. They didn't get the on-sides kick because of the formation, they got it because the Packers guy went for the ball instead of blocking per his assignment. Whatever...take a seat Rodgers!  ;D
