Hello all,

I am trying to see if anyone knows of a ignition on 12volt wire that is easy to get to and can handle an extra 2amp load. I am trying to connect a USB power bank that charges while I ride (so I can charge my electronics while I am gone) I am also connecting my radar detector to this. I have a monster 796 2013 abs. Thanks all.

I used a kit from Easyern Beaver that takes a switched power lead from the parking light to power a relay that allows you to wire in accessories safely.

i have a battery tender installed on my battery, and bought a little connector that plugs into it, and its a USB, so u can plug anything into it as you ride.  pretty simple.
and since i have way too many bikes, all of them have battery tender, so i can take that little connector and plug it into any bike
and its only $10 or so.
hope that gives you another option

Just be careful, I had (have) something similar on my bike and kept getting a flat battery.  I don't know how, with nothing plugged in, it is drawing current but once I disconnected the lead the problem has stopped.  Mine has a long lead so is available at the dash, but connects at the same place as above.  I just fish the connector out through the trellis.

I purchased a relay from an autoparts store, I have an SAE connector stock on my bike, got some spare connectors. I plan on wiring the relay to the SAE and finding an ignition on (hot) wire. I already have something going to an alarm. I don't want to tie into that one. I had something tied in before and I would get false alarms. So, any easy access ignition on suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks for the advice all! I taped into the front parking light. I connected a relay to a 4 port SAE splitter, one for my Radar Detector, one for my USB bank, one for my Cigarette Lighter Socket and one spare. I work in a place where digital devices are prohibited (I modded my trunk to hold more stuff), and I charge the devices with the bank. It's awesome because the bank is charged only when the bike is running. I'll take pictures one of these days :D.
