Another fuel pump question

It seems that my fuel pump on the Monster is not pumping. I know there have been several threads regarding replacing the vacuum pump with an electric one, but after researching further you really need to pipe in a return which isn't the easiest thing to do on a Monster tank.

I 'could' take mine apart and look it over... :-\

There have been some reports that the pump Ca-Cycleworks sells 'might' be inadequate volume wise for track use as it only puts out about 14l/hour.

The vet found me this one... http://www.dellorto.it/fuel-pumps-3 ...but we're basically flying blind as to whether it would work. You can also ggogle Dellorto P34 pump and translate if the link doesn't work.

Very low pressure, internal pressure regulation, high volume, and rebuildable. It is dual outlet, but that doesn't scare me. It is also about a quarter the price of a stock pump.

Has anyone tried it? Thoughts?

I've rebuilt several of the OEM pumps with the official kit from Sudco, and had no issues.

That Dellorto pump looks interesting.
It says nominal flow of 55 liter/hr, which is plenty.
100HP on a 4-stroke engine is ~8 gallons/hr.
I'm concerned that they show 125-300cc engines as the application, though.

300cc/cyl...x4 is the way I'm reading it.

Could be, Google Translate comes up a bit short on clarity sometimes.

It *looks* a bit small to me, in the pic.
But the internals could be a good bit different from the Mikuni, so that's not worth much.

Try it and let us know.  ;D

Eric's Dellorto rep suggested it.

For the $40ish I just might.

Sudco says the 'pentagon' pump is 65 liters/hr.
Without knowing the test conditions, not much help.

Purportedly $23 for the rebuild kit, and $69 for a pentagon pump.
That's from their online price list sheet which says it's 2012, so YMMV.

Yup. Plug &play.  Price for new ain't bad either.

I'll probably take the Mikuni apart and see what's going on inside.

The check valves might just be stuck from sitting so long.

The rectangular Mikuni fuel pump Chris sells works great w/ my FCR 41's on 98 M900. Had it 2-3 yrs now, no issues. It has one outlet as needed. I paired it w/ a Pingel manual shut off valve on the right side of the frame & ditched the vacuum fuel tap.
