Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

I think I got drunk dialed last night.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

Home after another successful DIMBY adventure [thumbsup]

While we were not hit by lightning last night, it DID strike close enough to knock out the internet service.....and boy was it close!

I'm guessing based on the lack of posts that the problem might still exist?

Posting from the phone. Still no internet, but the phone is back so they're working on it. I should check the router because all the lights have come back on the modem .

Great to see everyone as always.

I'm home now. Calling that strike close is an understatement.

yes but that wasn't the big deal this year

some nasty storms were coming through, I'll attempt to describe what happened but words will fall short.

Basically within probably a 5 second period of time...
-there was a blinding flash
-ALL the lights went out
-there was a loud sound I can only describe as cannon fire or perhaps someone lighting dynamite if it were only 50 feet away
-then all the lights came back on

I still think we all died and this is now not real.  [laugh]

I like the theory.  I've never in my life been that close to a lightning strike. That was something else.

Some pics...

We currently have camp setup about halfway home.

Thanks to mr & mrs painter and to everyone that showed up. Cindy and I look forward to dimby every year because the laughs are nonstop, the food is great and the company is even better.

I wish I lived closer to you all but if once a year is all I get to see my internet friends then I'll take it.

Also, thanks go to herm for the education on how firefighting works. I learned some things.

Also, thanks go to oldfist in advance for shipping all my gear to me since I left make the beast with two backsing everything in a corner of painter's house ;D

Thanks again to Nate for hosting, and a special shout out to T for all her hard work in the kitchen; she get my vote for MVP of the weekend.

Also, thanks for the tire lesson all that took the time to pepper me with (questionably) constructive criticism.  i made it home without incident so I guess I properly ignored all the bad advice I got and somehow got the tires on without error.

I'll start a thread with some pics and notes once I'm on the road to the Lands of Espanol, so those that were interested in watching me screw up tire changes on a whole new continent can be entertained.

Chances I make it to DIMBY 17 are maybe 25% due to travel; but I put the chance there is still brisket left form DIMBY 16 by the time DIMBY 17 rolls around at around 80%.

I forgot to charge my camera battery, so only got a few pics in before it died.  Monsterlover's new camper made its DIMBY debut:
