Nobody bemoans the losses of wine swilling rich folk.

The year of suck continues.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

My Aunt and Uncle in Windsor are OK, but it's not over yet.

Fingers crossed.

It's ugly out there. Hope they manage okay.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Friend of mine is a chemist in Napa for a winery, said he's never been so scared as seeing a 20 foot wall of fire coming down the street.

Not just a lot of rich people in those areas. Think of all the ones who do the work. Service jobs, field hands, etc.

I really hope they get some rain soon to help control the fires.

Yes, it's ugly. (I live roughly 40 miles down South from Santa Rosa, but I used to work over there, about 4-5 miles away from the photo below.)

The air pollution caused by this fire is serious problem, even around here. People are complaining getting headache, itchy nose, constantly sneezing and coughing. In the last couple days, the masks are sold out everywhere, because everybody rushed out buying them.

People are walking down the street with these masks on ...

The color in the image above means,

Current AQI (Air Quality Index) here, where  I live, is 155, classified as "unhealthy".
"Active children and adults, and people with respiratory disease, such as asthma, should avoid prolonged prolonged outdoor exertion. Everyone else, especially children, should limit prolonged outdoor exertion."

That means, I won't be going for (long-ish) ride for a while.

I breathed some smoke and burned my finger on the fire pit this year.

So apparently you view your boo boo as being the same as being cremated in a raging wildfire.

Maybe you have some similar view of the recent hurricanes and condensation on your bathroom mirror?

You've stooped to a new low Dave.

Should I ban you, or would you prefer to delete your account?

I lost an extended family member to the fire in Redwood Valley, Darrin was my uncles wife's son.  Yea he died in the fire, couldn't get out of the neighborhood. Haven't heard from my other Uncle, Aunt, or cousins that live in Redwood Valley. I know several other people who have been evacuated from their homes the last few weeks. My own Dad was under evacuation warning this summer here in Oregon. New house, fires getting closer....makes for a good nights rest. The Coffey Park neighborhood in Santa Rosa that burned down, my cousin Randy lives there his house was miraculously spared; the parents of a fellow squadron mate also lived in that neighborhood. (I remember going to his wake at their home after he hung himself in the tool shed a number of years ago). Now most of it ashes. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Santa-Rosa-businesses-homes-burn-as-firefighters-12263764.php#item-39786

There were fires just 20 miles from here. Lots of smoke, everywhere, for hundreds of miles. there was no getting away from it. That isn't even the extent of friends and family that were affected. It's been a nail biter most of the summer. Many of those places are near and dear to me. Been living around these parts most of my life. I just don't always express my tragedies or the ones that are close to me on the internet. Like when my Mom died of cancer a few years back. Didn't mention it here as far as I recollect. That's My business, and it's the way I cope with stuff. Stiff upper lip and all that, or in my case a Snive remark.

I really don't even like airing this much out. And so now that I have shared that much, whats are you gonna do? Cry me a river? Make it all OK? No you're not. Cause that's life, and in this world shitty stuff happens and we all have to deal with it. I feel fortunate that nothing too drastic happened to me personally this year, but I'm sure something is just around the corner.

I also don't talk much about good stuff that we do here (Joy and I) Watching someones kids, finding the owner of that dog, shoveling someones walk, giving a car to someone, doing volunteer work, etc. Cause that's My business too, and despite what you seem to think about me, it isn't all about me.

Do what you want Nate.

So why say anything, particularly something that makes you seem like a person I don't want to be around?

Why not just leave it alone?

A friend and his wife were sleeping and heard the sheriff pounding on their door and yelling "Fire, get out!"  They barely had time to grab some clothes and their dog.  Here's what is left of their home of 40+  years, including his firearms and his Dad's WWII helmet.  They are just like most of us, hardly wine swilling rich folk.

So how should we add the deletion of MendoDave's account to the casualties of these fires?  I doubt there's a category for it...
