Good Sunday morning; a question in the back of my mind for a while; google-ed it and the question didn't get answered;

What are the s2r Production Numbers 800 & 1000 ds? How many built and imported into the US per year? This should be a relatively easy thing to look up; but nothing forth coming via google ...

s2r 800 - ATCP clutch; sss; dual shotgun exhaust was built from 2005-08; how many were built per year?

s2r 1000 ds; dual sparkplugs; Dry clutch; sss; dual shotgun exhaust was built from 2006-08 with the desmo duo valves; what were the production numbers on that per year and imported into North America?

- and - as an aside; could one put the ATCP clutch components (..not the plates ...;)- ) in the 1000 dry; or does it rely on oil?

cheers  [popcorn]

The aptc came on the sport classic in the 1000, but it was wet there.

I don't understand the appeal, though. I find they start slipping under power after 15k miles or so. I swapped for an equivalent mileage regular clutch that was fine for another 12k miles.

- interesting -; 1000 dry has very heavy pull / heavy springs; very direct on or off clutch;  the 800 ATCP is such a nice light to pull and has the slipper function

I've blathered on at length in another thread some years ago.

I'm curious as to the production numbers also.

I've moved the clutch-specific posts to the thread that's now in tech.
