Fork Interchangeability - Any info out there? A cross reference page?

Just curious if anyone has some info on how forks can be interchanged between different Monster models. For example, will a pair of '02 900 stock forks fit on an '05 S2R 800?

I have seen bits and pieces here and there on the forums, but not a single source with some type of cross reference guide.

Thanks!

monsters have 2 variations in axle size - 20mm and the hollow 25mm.  i don't think any of the '93 models had the 17mm front axle.  front brake caliper mounts have had 2 different spacings - 40mm and 65mm.  changed around '99 or so from memory.  the diameters of the forks where they are held by the triple clamps are all the same, and the same as any '91 on SS, ST and Sport classic.  the only exception is S4Rs ohlins and maybe the S4Rt showa.

You should be OK with the '02 forks, as they "probably" have the same 25mm axle and same caliper spacing that your bike does.
Are the stock 900 forks adjustable?

S4Rt forks have a different axle, it fits 25mm bearings, but the 'big' end is much bigger than non-Rt forks.

S4Rs axle is similar to the other 25mm axles, but the length of the 'big' end is different.
