We'll, we finally did it. Mrs ML and I bought a house. It took ten years of ass busting at the shop and saving like crazy but we got it done.

We started looking more seriously over the last 18 months or so. This place was recommended to us by Zillow. It didn't come up in either of our searches so we would have never seen it otherwise.

Given that all the other places we had any interest in were under contract in less than two weeks when this place came up I pushed to move fast if it was going to work for us.

My amazing realtor, my dad, had us in to see it the day after we discovered the listing. We decided to make an offer that same night and had a deal the following morning. The house was on the market three days.

By the time we had the home inspection done shortly thereafter the sellers had something like five backup offers.

Closing day was a long one.

-up at 330 thinking about which direction to start laying flooring upstairs (we're pulling out carpet)
-order materials at Lowe's at 6am
-close on the house at 11am
-borrow a trailer from a buddy
-Lowe's gets their act together at 6pm and we get loaded with 27 sheets of plywood and 56 boxes of flooring (about 2500 pounds)
-haul to the house and unload the flooring
-1300 sqft of carpet removed and disposed of by 1030
-back in bed by midnight.

Yesterday we got all the padding out, tack strips and pulled about 1000 tiny staples they use to secure carpet padding

Today the subfloor should be in and we can start flooring it.

Once that's done we get to move in!

It's been a long road and, as someone on this forum often says , some of it wasn't paved.

T just showed me pics...what kind of mower are you going to get? That's a big lawn. [thumbsup]

Thanks!  Yeah it's a couple acres.

My aunt has a kubota bx2360 with a belly mower and a front loader that I'm buying. She's in Florida though. Sent her the check *then* got word from the shipper that they can't move it until June due to covid.

So, currently trying to find an alternate shipper.

If you can't find an alternate shipper, buy a rear mount rotary mower, mow it, sell the rotary, and then use the belly mower. ;D

How wide is the belly mower?

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

I understood that. A rear mount rotary mower will mow grass that's 6' tall. It won't matter when the tractor shows up. ;D

Good thing you're not working as much. You'll need the time. :P

Tell me about it [laugh]

So I'm unclear here. To me, a rear mount rotary is a 3pt deal driven by the tractor, correct?  I have no tractor to run it. If I did, there would be no issue, is just use that.

This is one generation newer than my aunt's and it's 20 minutes from me.

I understand you have no tractor, but you will in a month.

Then you hook up the rotary, mow it, and from then on you use the belly mower.

It's just an excuse to get another implement. ;D

Oh I see what you're getting at.

Well, pallet forks are on the list and I think I'd love a PTO rototiller but don't know if I can justify it.

They make all kinds of things to fit the backs of these machines :D
