Doesn't mean I have to like it.

What should I do now?  I mean, now that I’m already off your lawn?  ;D

Is any modern legitimately street legal bike full gear drive?

I think the noise would be problematic to get past the specs.

I thought the VFR 750's, 400's & earlier 800's were expensive, exquisite gear driven cams? You can hear the gear whine which goes well with the V4 growl like a blown V8.

You are correct about the VFRs, gear driven until...don' know.  Maybe for homologation?  Gear driven is both noisy and expensive.

They used backlash gears to quiet them down a bit. We removed them for racing. They stopped gear driven cams at the variable timing VFR800 which didnt work too well. I think it was a two valve/four valve thing, not sure but dont care from all reports as Honda got too fancy for their own good. The gear driven 800 was a derivative of the RC45 design and excellent. The last version of the VFR750 was a beauty.

The desmosedici has gear driven cams and sounded great. I met a bloke who had one and it sounded wicked. He said his bike once got impounded and his licence was fragile. ;D

The rc 51 was gear drive as well.  The twins sound good with gear drive as well.  The newest ones are 14 years old now, so not super modern.

Yes, it was.  I beat feet down to the Honda dealer to try to buy one of the last ones... but missed it.  I wound up with a CBR1000F instead.
