Dainese Moto-X Glove review

After a whole week of waiting. i got my gloves yesterday and took them out for a spin today.

Let me say, this glove is a huge step up from my Joe Rocket Supermoto gloves in terms of build quality, fabric and leather quality, as well as comfort.

The whole glove is made of real leather. The upper palm, lower pam and thumb finger are reinforced, padded  and double stitch with extra leather. The inside hand is made of a suede feeling leather, and the rest is soft black leather. On the opposite side (back hand) every finger has the same feature as the palm, an extra reinforcement of leather that is double stitched as well. the glove. There inner knuckles are protected by a thick layer of padding, and the outer 2 knuckles are covered with carbon fiber. The lower part of the backhand is made of spandex. The glove is not as breatheable as my perforated joe rockets. But neither is it restricting. It fits much tighter and you can feel your controls much better. its stealthy enough to be able to reach into your pocket, grab your debit card, buy a drink and put your wallet back in without taking of. (big plus for my frequent stops since taking your gloves of with sweaty hands is a bit annoying after the 10th time in an hour)

being a short glove, you dont get anywhere near the amount of protection as a full gauntlet, so there is a huge sacrafice in safety vs comfort. The main questions you have to ask yourself is, what are you expecting out of the glove? I purchased this glove as an urban riding glove. Comfort was very important and was  higher on my list. The gloves would probably not survive a high energy impact, but thats not my intent since it is a commuter glove.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase as this is my 2nd glove, and first dainese product. It fits great, its comfortable, and looks very well built. I'm defintely going to check out their full guantlets soon.

I agree with the comfort but wonder about the durability.  With the pair I had, where the elastic wrist band was stiched to the leather separated near the heel of the palm.  This was due to pulling them onto my hand in this area.  But feel like they should have been durable enough to handle this.  So pull them on gently.

My latest purchase is a set of A* Web boots.  Made in Bosnia.

you know, i wouldnt feel bad about paying premium for something thats made at home (in dainese's case italy). but for somethign thats made in vietnam? I know they need to eat over there too, but we all know they get paid too well (in reference to their standards).

EIther way, i will try to tug on them gently. Thats how my Joe rockets broke, i tug on the fingers to get them of and  the palm just ripped open. If they rip within a year, ill try to get them warrantied, cause from the build quality, it looks like it would handle everyday abuse. Thats why i paid $90 for them right?

I feel the same way.  When I was browsing through the D-Store in SF, I was surprosed at how little is made in Italy.  The prices suggest that the stuff is, that's for sure.  A Dianese t-shirt at $29, or as high as $49 for a Leguna Seca design - gotta be Italian at that price, right.  Nope  - Peru.

yup. I hate seeing items being marked up when they are outsourced. but thats the way the world spins today.

Our ducs are still made in italy right??!!!
