Just pulled into Angel Fire New Mexico for some breakfast. Decided to take the Suburban instead of the Cessna, so drove all night. Weather forecast was iffy for leaving DFW this morning and leaving NM area on Monday. I'm ready for some snowboarding now!!

You just drove right past my family's cabin in Ute Park on Hwy 64. It's about half way between Cimarron and Eagles Nest.

*under-armor is a good idea, I'll have to give that a "go" next time.
P.S. NEVER do winter sports with a bottle! -use a wineskin/boda bag  If you think your sore now it could be much worse. 

*...there is no excercise that can prepare you for skiing/boarding -it's an awesome workout!  The soreness sure makes the beer at the lodge taste even better 

*It's not about dominating the board, it's about not letting the board make the ground dominate you 

I think it would be fun to take a moto group out here.

This is definitely a full body workout, but I'm not sure what hurts worse, the muscle soreness or the impact injuries. I'm a pretty decent skier and I was hoping that would help with boarding, but this is completely different. It will be good to try again next time and enjoy it more with less work.

If any of you want to go snowboarding, I recommend golf. I totally wish I wore my winter riding jacket with the armor everywhere. None of my body parts don't hurt but unfortunately I have one more day to turn all these minor stress fractures into compound fractures. I bow down to Cyclone and any other of you that can dominate the board.

I have special snowboarding "crash pant" gel shorts to protect hips & tailbone & I wear standard knee and elbow pads made for volleyball under my snow riding gear. Most important I have anti hyperextension gloves ( the most common injury is a wrist break ) and I wear a helmet if I'm in the terrain park !!!

Soft snow really helps during learning - icy crusty "sierra cement" that is often found around the golden circle in NM is hard to learn on and hard to crash on once skilled !

What I am doing is trying to figure out how I can get out there "on the cheap" the last week of this month !  So I guess I am also wishing I was there !

Three or Four guys - pile in car - trade drivers every 2-3 hours - cheap cabin - cook in, take lunches, bring booze with us - ski or ride our asses off all day - bed early after chow & pouring down some booze - no shaving - the ususal ski bum thing - I guess what I am doing is wondering if anyone is interested?  DLS and I have discussed but not nailed anything down - thinking last week in Feb.

Well Mindy and I are trying to put our new house together.  Man moving sucks, but we will probally be moving again in a year.  This job sucks and I don't want to do it.  It is a paper pregnant dog job.  It is 2 levels below me, they want to drop my level but not the pay.  I really hate it and we want to come home, so maybe early next year we WILL be back!!

Two things. One, nice pics of the Guzzi!! That's a good looking scooter! What kind of aftermarket exhausts are those?? Second, Alan that sucks big time. Sorry to hear it. Get your ass back here pronto!! Knowing the level of goofiness with GM (and others... ) you may be back sooner than you expect! Look how long you were in Ohio. Good luck with the house. Sounded like Mindy had a good job in Ohio. Hope she finds something in WV.
