Alright, I get my bike back friday morning, and ill do a 100mile shake down test of it. And saturday me and a friend want to go somewhere and we got 4 days. Start point NYC. Where should we go? We have New Orleans in mind, i got a buddy there who has a place for us to crash. The problem is, i have to be back on the 27th. So for me to make it to florida, id have to basically do it in under 1.5 days, and NO is about 400 miles from Tallahassee. That would make it 3 days, and we could possibly take a route directly to NY from NO.

OR, do you guys have any suggestions for something we can hit up and be back in 4 days. The point of this ride is to see some culture, something that I can signify as the end of the summer, and back to school story kinda thing. A good perk is somewhere that has great value in American history, especially with the election coming up. I want to see something that I didnt know about, or havent thought about seeing (and possibly closer than New Orleans)

Come to Canada!  It's nice up here.  As for American history, check out August 24, 1814.   [evil]

That's actually not that bad a plan.  Travel upstate for the great Finger Lakes scenery and then continue on to Quebec City .  It's almost like being in Europe once you are inside the old city walls and pretty much a typical French-Canadian (translate as fun) place anywhere else.  Oh...and English IS spoken there!   ;D

I can't knock New Orleans either, but it is a lot longer a ride.  Wherever you decide to go, have fun and be safe.   [thumbsup]

i say screw the destination and just pick a road or a direction. most often it's about the journey, not where you wind up.

I just got back from new orleans and although it is awesome I dont think you could properly do it in 4 days. I passed thru Tennessee on the way back and I believe Nashiville was around 13 hours from NYC (stopped overnight at a friends at VA tech). I drove across the entire state from memphis to the Va border and I have to say I like eastern TN better, very nice. I think that would be a good option and you can hit the tail of the dragon like someone suggested.

3033 miles in a cage from NM to NYC and the only duc dealer i saw was in NOLA. Oh and if you decide to go enjoy the open container law there.

WTF?   Why don't you point out December 7th 1941 and September 11th 2001 while you're at it.  Maybe May 7th 1915 and March 6th 1836.

Truth be told, there's a hell of a lot more to see within 3 days riding in the US than there is in Canada.

you know, i didnt understand what aug 24th meant was until i took another look at the year.

Now that shit is uncalled for. Go fu c k yourself asshat. How dare you even make light of burning of the our Capitol? Everyday i see people hating on America, which is fine, but to laugh at people dying, and to go as far as making light of a day when our country lost its capitol and to put a  [evil] next to it, means your a make the beast with two backsing douche bag. Dont like this country? Then dont make the beast with two backsing post here since this is a US dominated forum. Suck it.

I agree with the Nashville destination, and for historical significance, head west on I-78 out of NJ and stop by Gettysburg, Antietem, Harper's Ferry, Charlottesville, and on down to TN.  On the way back you could stop at Mount Vernon, and Monticello.

Not that I want to start a fight...but settle down man!!  It's all in fun. [thumbsup]

(And besides.....you might want to check on who started that whole fight back in 1812.  Seems to me the Americans invaded Canada .... and we whooped yer asses.   ;D  )

Says the Canadian man who didn't even have a country in 1812. It aint all "fun" when you poke at what the history considers defeat for any nation. For you to  stick a  [evil] at the burning of Washington D.C. is the same as going, September 11, 2001  [evil]. You have no idea how it feels so your best bet is to tread lightly. Making fun of tragic events in American history is as bad as making fun of the death of someone important to you because the only people who understand what it means to be an American, are Americans. But it seems like you have no idea what pride in ones country feels like so it wouldn't matter if you Canadian or not.

I wonder if you'd even care if your flag was burned. Or should do we have to burn your home with family inside? or hell, lets jut burn your whole city with all your friends, it'll be fun watching everything burn to the ground! Oh by the ground, i mean dead. Its all fun right?
