In the last pic on the left side where you see the start of the antifreeze cleanup, that's where my Montero and trailer were parked...........
:P Jeez Tommy - I used to co-own that trailer with L'Smart & it was built with old pipe by some crazy oilfield worker to withstand an atomic bomb !!! I can't believe this - the poor Montero is probably f'ed up beyond repair - the F150 cannot have even touched the brakes - may ahve mistaken the gas for the brakes !!!
T & B & WhiteCat - so sorry this happened ! Wow this is just crazy!! This makes the Irish in me think " if ever I feel safe, just look up ( & out) because here comes the anvil !! "
I told Marquess last night, "no worries, I will personally take it to AMS-A at 10:00 am when they open." That was a fun call to make this morning. Ummm.....Marquess, man......your bike is fu*ked..........
[bang] That bike needs some sort of f'n EXORCISM !!!! Dude !!! [bang]
Holy shit that sucks! No words...

Tommy, I thought you said this was a company truck! Oh man ...worse than I had thought then! This is really going to twist the insurance companies with this claim. Meanwhile...(this is bad taste I know) Anyway you could slip off the Termis for me ??? oh, and the ECU too! JK really I am.

He's right her companys' insurance is going to pay for that new SUV you and B have needed along with a shiney new 6x12 enclosed w/AC and a dressing room inside, double doors in back with raised up side panels (for an awning) on each side, lights all around, not to mention that 46" flat screen running off of the Direct TV satellite dish. Along with M's new '09 848.

Unbelievable. At least no one is hurt, probably the only upside to the whole thing. All things mechanical are fixable - however painful!

hope you end up making out on the insurance claims, and they don't try to shit on you, which is what i can only expect they'll want to do. my sentra got plowed and totaled by a drunk driver that ran a red, and his insurance company fought with me tooth and nail....pregnant doges. here's to a hassle free settlement [beer]
Baker Huges F-150, My Montero Limited, My 3 rail moto trailer, and Marquess' 848 all on tow trucks being hauled off. The [leo]bactually looked at me and asked what I wanted to do with my truck......I laughed and said it's gonnabe towed and repaired by Baker Hughes's insurance company. It damn sure aint gonna stay here. I already have to figure out my vehicle situation. Bonnie takes the kids to school n Burleson at 8:00 am and then goes straight to Hurst for her school. That was my only vehicle besides Bonnie's, but I leave for work at 6:30 am every morning...... This blows.

It's hard to see it at the moment but something good is going to come out of all this trouble. There is a higher reasoning behind this cruel situation. Hey, T&B&WC, if there is anything I can do let me know. I'd let you borrow my beater Tracer but some guy-friend of my daughters put his foot in the windshield. I haven't fixed it as of yet.

Tommy, just thought (RE: I'd let you borrow my beater Tracer but some guy-friend of my daughters put his foot in the windshield. I haven't fixed it as of yet.) that for less the cost of a rental the windshield could be replaced rather quickly and you'd be on the road. Let me know.

I can still take one bike to track day in the back of the truck - T and I thought we would offer it to Kevin, since we committed to him first - we will figure it out - THC is out though, we will have both our bikes in the back of the truck. Oh well, maybe a new trailer by then....sorry about the bike, WC - that's an understatement - what a morning! That lady should be glad it wasn't the black truck parked there with four Ducs loaded up. I would consider renting a suitable truck/vehicle/trailer in the meantime...
The nice Baker Hughes Co. should "make you whole". They should have to pay for your rental while the vehicle repair/total/etc. is being sorted out.

OK, just how long did the cops let you beat that dumbass with a baseball bat before they made you stop??? A neighbor? Three-four houses down? Was she pretending to be John Force and see how hard she could accelerate before she dropped her crack pipe and looked away?? What a f#@king dumbass!! Holy shit! Other than "expletive deleted" I have no other words to say. I'll try... I am so sorry that this happened. Especially to someone who was going out of their way in an act of kindness to help someone else who is too hurt to handle this on their own. Life is just nuts. This is so goddamn unfair it's not even funny. Just what damn evil force is at work here to cause that person to do that? I just don't understand. Hell, this has even ruined my day. I can only imagine what it has done to yours, Bonnie's and Marquez'. They had better have good insurance and please tell me the cops wrote her a class A dumbass ticket! >:(
On a somewhat more positive note, if you guys need a second vehicle to get around in you are welcome to use my 2002 Chevy extended cab pick up. I have my new '08 pick up (many thanks to Alan!!) and have not sold the '02 yet. It's not big enough for the entire clan but you are more than welcome to use it until they fix you up with a rental or you get a new vehicle.
I guess someone needs to ask this: just what the hell did she say or offer as an excuse. She didn't even touch her brakes or even veer to the left one little bit. She hit it absolutely square on at a high rate of speed... especially considering it is a 30mph residential street. I'm dying to know what the hell she said.
EDIT: I have you covered on the trailer need too. Nice 6.5X10 foot utiity trailer, brand new tires, have two Baxley Sport Chocks with mounting kits that are dying to be mounted up, tons of tie downs and the lift out tail gate doubles as a heavy duty loading ramp! It's yours... and the pick up pulls it very nicely! [thumbsup]

I replied to Kevin on the track day post. If you speak with him let him know to look at my profile and email me at home. I'll wait to see if he still needs a haul but in the meantime, the trailer could haul 5 bikes.....the 5th would need to be tied down separately though. I'm off to Portland until Tuesday so please contact me on my personal email while I'm away if you need to make arrangements. Gonna stop by the Duc store immediately after landing and then off to a Coastal ride with friends. YAHOO
Have a better weekend.
[thumbsup] I too, have a spare family size vehicle which is yours for the asking in case something about the rental doesn't work ! I have a trailer that is a 4x8 like a pick-up bed trailer which will carry 1 MC and maybe even could be adapted to fit 2 sportbikes. I might use the trailer for THC if raining heavily but it is borrowable for the Trackday in a pinch.
I'll be out of touch until Monday after today - big fun ! [thumbsup]
This seems like an episode of Earl !! before that bike does track the Dalai Lama, the Pope, & Billy Graham need to give it a once over !!!
I have a 5x10 trailer with two wheel chocks installed ready to tow two bikes. Pretty sure I have a 2-inch ball on my truck.
I can tow it into work in Grand Prairie tomorrow, and somebody can meet me at lunch or whenever and pick it up. Although, I guess track day is next weekend, right?? Just let me know when, and I'll bring it.
Tommy, that is some scary shit.
When I saw the first picture I thought the F150 had nudged the trailer whist trying to park, it did not even enter my head that they could have tried to drive straight through it. Well to be honest I still can't work out how it could have happened, I have been sat here for 10 minutes trying to write something but I am lost for words.
I hope it all gets sorted soon and does not cause you to much inconvenience.

I cant even begin to express how much this sucks! Just glad no one was hurt. My stomach knotted up when I saw those pictures .... I wish I had a car or something to offer you guys to help out.
I'll see if I can't catch a ride with Muskrat to track day (thanks for the offer man). For HC I may actually have gotten my hands on a trailer that can carry 4 to 6 bikes (enclosed). Nevermind how I am going to get my bike anywhere... just let me know what I can do to help!
My thought is that after she put on her makeup in the truck mirror she couldn't see to put down the last of her beer so she could answer the phone! And she was maybe sleepy after being up all night too.
I have had some time today to think about the total picture of what happened this morning. I honestly for the life of me can't figure out how she hit my trailer so hard that it pushed my truck and trailer (which was in park....hope my tranny's fine) down the road so far. I have parked in the same place every day since January. There are tire marks on the curb about 30-40 feet behind the resting place of the vehicles. I think that was the point of contact, but they are pointing at a 45* angle to the road. Kinda like she was hopping the curb and going into my yard. but oddly the truck and my truck and trailer were all in line. It actually pushed the tongue (3 ft A-frame) of the trailer into my truck. There is glass in my front floor board from the rear windshield. I personally think the 848 hit my rear window, then bouncing back to a perpendicular position on its side. I had 4 ratchet straps on all 4 corners of the bike.....and it was STOUT!. I also had a strap going from the left front corner of the trailer, wrapping around the wheel and chock, and connecting to the right front corner of the trailer. This was to keep the wheel in the chock. Here is a pic of the right side tie down from the trailer:
I found it on the ground. It snapped in two from the impact. Keep in mind, this was in a residential neighborhood community, nowhere near a main road. I have no clue why the cops didn't question her more. They only took her information and insurance. I'm no detective, but this was not a low speed collision. When you have a vehicle that was pushed 30 feet from impact, a 1/4 inch thick steel trailer mangled and steel tie down hooks broken, then there is something to be said. Unfortunately, nothing was. I myself was in a bit of shock. Mainly thinking about Marquess's bike that was in my possession. Wow, I gotta quit thinking about this.....
I still want to know what the hell she said to you and the cops!! Was she even apologetic? Did she even give a s#@t? When do we get revenge? [laugh] I'm still just blown away by her stupidity. If she drives that freaking bad down her own street maybe the rest of the world is lucky she didn't get any further. Probably saved untold number of lives! :P

Man, I know that's got to be frustrating. None of it was my sh#t and those pics piss me off. I think you could sell tickets and have people lined around the block to take turns pregnant dog-slapping the driver.
I have a feeling that (unfortunately), if nobody was injured, the cops just don't care. Why call the crime scene investigators to reconstruct the event on a supercomputer at NASA to show that the F150 had to have been doing double the speed limit and then laid on the gas after hitting the trailer to continue pushing everything that far down the road? After all, nobody was hurt (this time).
Actually, what can they really do? If they didn't witness it, all they will probably do give a ticket for failure to control speed or some BS like that and then get back to the donut shop before they loose their favorite seat.
When you think about it - the physics of it is impressive. She had to have turned the curner off Stonebrook or Mequite and just absolutely FLOORED it to build up enough speed to do that kind of damage in that short of distance. Either that, or she hit it at a slower speed and simply stayed on the gas letting the truck do some serious pushing (all 30-40 feet) until she finally realized what was going on.
So did you ever hear her side of the story??
Damn Tommy, Bonnie, and Marquess sorry to see this. That is some crazy shit, if I ever meet Marquess I am buying him a tall cold one [drink]. Bonnie, and Tommy the first round on Bourbon St. is on me [beer]

OK, 14 hours after the [leo] [leo] leave, Bonnie decides to tell me about the "male" eye witness that got out of the truck and walked away never to be seen again...........
Funny I never knew about that, or she never she (driver) never mentioned him to the cops. [bang] [bang] [bang]
I will be making a phone call in the morning to Burleson's finest.......... Not that they would ever question any wrong doing.......
Yep, Bonnie just told me that he got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and walked down the sidewalk never to be seen again........ wow. [roll]
The plot thickens.
So, just got off the phone with the driver's boss. I asked him how it all happened, what was her story. He said she was questioned by their EHA people. I asked him if she mentioned the 2nd witness.......you know the male passenger that out of your company truck and ran off....
He had no idea there was another person.........no one did. Not me, her company, the cops, no one was told that by her. The cops asked too......
Either she was bringing home another dude from work and they didn't want his name on the police report(hell of a way to get caught cheating), or he had a warrant. I vote warrant.

Yes and no. There really is no way to prosecute her, and she was not under oath. The dude that left had no obligation to stay. He was basically a witness. He doesn't have to say anything at all.

I never saw him. Bonnie was by our front door ironing me a shirt for work (yep, they still exist) and heard the crash. She ran outside to see wtf happened and a dude was getting out of the truck and walked away. She asked the driver if she was ok and then ran back inside the house to get me. I never saw him, and noone mentioned him, even after the cops asked. Bonnie was inside getting the kids ready for school, she didn't tell me til last night.

Right-O there is. In fact I think it's considered a felony!
Basically she will say that she did not remember him being there. The wreck was a traumatic experience, and she really doesn't remember all of the details. You do not have to tell the police squat.
If she had left, then it would be a different story. There are a few charges she could be hit with. If there were injuries, then she could be hit with failure to render aid.

There was no ambulance/EMT sent, she refused treatment, because "she was completely fine" by her words.

Those pics are incredible. I wonder how fast she was going to do that kind of damage? On the other hand, that was a large truck. Just the inertia of that thing would be hard to stop. I would guess the impact of the truck pushed the trailor under your SUV and then picked up the rear of your SUV, in turn making it easier to push it that far. That is amazing..... talk about bad luck.
Do you think they will be able to fix your SUV? I've always thought that a vehicle will be totalled if they find that the frame has been compromised.
Anyways, I hope you get everything properly fixed and back in running condition soon.

The trailer's not under it, its pushed into it. And there is a frame crossmember right there on the rear. I saw it when I was installing my new hitch last month. Look back at the pics, you'll see where the hitch is still bolted to the frame, and the trailer is right above it. You will notice the the steel tongue that the 2" ball sits on is bent over backwards going up and into my truck. i have no idea if there is frame damage, but I hope so. Lord knows they wont check the rearend and tranny, which took on major stress.

After it couldn't go into my frame anymore, then the frame of the trailer gave in and buckled.....(http://pic40.picturetrail.com/VOL363/7371556/20718375/337950253.jpg)

It crushed the frame of the trailer....

This blows.
And I no longer have a trailer for track day and THC trip [bang]
My truck has been down for a month because of the unlicensed driver turning AND stopping in front of me; I have rental car coverage, so I've had a car all this time. Check out your coverage for a possible rental.

Well, I called my awesome insurance company yesterday just to let them know. From there they tried to get me to let them take care of the claim. It would have cost me my $1000.00 deductable and potentially increase my rates. Even though I was in my house brushing my teeth when the incident occured. I politely told them what I thought. I have paid approx $50K to 1 insurance company in the last 12 years and I have made 1 $1800.00 claim in that span. That alone raised my insurance, and they wanted to charge me an extra $6K /year for the 1098s. I told them that if they could feel comfortable raising my rates for something that was absolutely no fault of mine then, they could go make the beast with two backs themselves.
oh, Sorry I haven't said this earlier.
Thanks EVERYONE!
Thanks for the kind words
Thanks for offering help/vehicles/trailers.....
Thanks so much to all of you [thumbsup]
Dude, sorry your truck/trailer were bashed. Glad you and the family are ok though. I would also refrain from further contact with one possessed white duc...

Hmmm...maybe it's not such a good idea to put that 848 on the track on second thought.

All Baker Hughes company vehicles have a driver monitoring device installed, but I didn't say that and I am not here.

I'm still pissed - dammit! I have no f'in car now - and I am not Rich D. I can not carry $300 of Walmart bs on my bike.....and I can't take five kids to school on the moto - although I did take Oceane to school today on the monster for a breakfast/award ceremony.....have a neighbor friend to pick up the other kids - big thanks to Krissy! Really appreciate everyone's offer to help, btw, like Tommy said. That was very nice. We are still trying to work out a rental. As long as it doesn't rain too hard, we are good for now........but, yeah, I am still kinda pissed off.

You are very much in the right for thinking the way you do. They should have had someone out to talk to you first up. Something this serious should not be taken lightlyh by insurance a-holes. Personally, I think yu're not showing anger. Myself I'm very "A" type when it comes to dealings with ass hole insurance companies. I'd be demanding a car....as of now to be delivered to you're f-ing doorstep!!!! Pressed they will respond. My offer still stands. It's good on gas but needs a windshield at the moment

I really want to go off right now....f'ing ins companies, but I am going to hold off - waiting......patiently......
thanks for the offer, may have to take you up on that, we will see......I am trying to be good (hence the "no bad days" avatar), hope you all can see the effort [laugh]

I can not believe how calm you are about this, well actually after meeting you I can and I admire it, but I would be going ape... I can't understand how you have not been sorted out with transport yet. I do not know of Baker Hughes or the system here but in the UK big companies are self insured as they realise insurance company's are a waste of time, money, etc.
IMHO Baker Hughes should be sorting you out, have you a contact there to pester? If not we found WhiteCat's address and phone number so I'm sure we can get hold of someone in Baker Hughes who does not want/ need this shit on his table so it will get sorted ASAP.
okay, okay......I have one more thing to say.....WTF - I ride everyday and have stupid f'ing people driving Lexus' merging into my lane - Hello! My bike is LOUD! I think I could actually fit five kids on my bike and take them to school safer than most people can operate a freakin motor vehicle! It was a PARKED truck with trailer and bike attached....WTH......41 hours later, this is going nowhere good. I will keep you all updated. [bang]

Bonnie/Tommy,
I am still very serious about you using my '02 Silverado extended cab pick up!! It's just sitting here in the driveway waiting. I am now officially back in town so other than this afternoon (taking the dog to the vet) and tomorrow night (anniversary, three of the most wonderful years in Jennifer's life!!! [laugh] [bang]) I am available to hand it off in your time of need. Also have the trailer if you need it for track day!!
Just say the word!
Brian

That's badass that Oceane got to go to school on the S4R! I bet all the other kids were jealous of how cool you guys are [thumbsup]
8) I have an Isuzu Trooper that you can borrow anytime you want for as long as you need. It runs great, good stereo, 4wd, not great gas mileage but OK - just let me know & you can use it as long as you want ! BORROW IT !!
When you hear the phrase " No good deed goes unpunished ! " this is the textbook example. I agree with Andy y'all are very calm ( at least posting ) and really incredible people - you are always showing more concern for people than stuff caught in the fray. I think a lot of you T&B - sure would like to help in any way I can!
Thanks so much guys for the offering to help. They finally filed the claim today and are providing us with a rental car in the A.M.! We'll keep ya'll updated on the claim status! ;)

No, it's my bad. I did tell you that they were coming to you in the mail and to watch your mailbox. But then I got side tracked with the whole farm disaster and had a senior moment and forgot to mail them to you. Even had a cardboard box the right size picked out and everything. Just didn't follow through with my swing. When we made the one piece leathers hand off arrangements I made sure to put them in the bag with the gloves. Thought I mentioned that to the folks at Scott's that were there for the Xerox sticker party. Yeah, that's it, it's their fault for not telling you! [laugh] Passing the blame like the old pro that I am! ;D

And she lied to the cops, me, her company and the insurance claims lady. :-\
Did ya'll finally get a rental car? Are they handling your claim OK? In other words are they accepting full responsibilty for the accident? Also, how are they handling Marquess' damage claim? I can really see that being a freaking mess for him. How can you really say what damage was done when on the bike? It took a tumble on the road then took another b#tch slap on the trailer. It is obvious more damage was sustained when it was knocked off the trailer and into the back windshield of the SUV... then body slammed back onto the trailer. I can see his insurance carrier and the Baker/Hughes insurance carrier pointing fingers at each other claiming the bike damage should covered by the other guy. This could go on for months with one trying to stick it to the other and vice versa. Potential nightmare in the making. Anyone hear from Marquess regarding this mess?
If Baker lives up to what they preach then the lady will probably be fired. They've been hammering on vehiclular accident rates for a few years trying to get them down and say they go as far as tagging accidents that are not technically the company driver's fault as their fault if it was deemed an avoidable accident. Everyone driving a company vehicle is required to take the Smith Systems course, but it just goes to show that you can't cure stupid.
A few years back I was rearended by a city bus while in my truck and METRO wouldn't talk period; our insurance will contact you. Their insurance carrier wasn't exactly the fastest responders in the world either, which made dealing with Enterprise and Baker Jackson Nissan a real joy. Yep, we've put a new bumper on your truck, but they haven't paid us yet so we're keeping your truck until they do. Of course you could pay us and get reimbursed by the insurance carrier. [roll]
