RichD was kind enough to enlighten us in the HC on the difference between lying and bullshitting. Apparently lying contains the intent to deceive or something ( dunno, was seriously impacted by murduc porter at the time ). the lesson went something like:
"Now LYING is when you are trying to deceive someone. Exaggerating is not lying. For example, RonR tells us that he push-started his 1098. Now that's BULLSHIT"
this, of course, got me thinking, "hey, my thread count is low, and I have been too busy to call bullshit on people". It's like you got your peanut butter in my chocolate.
So, go ahead. Call bullshit. pick something. not the ronr/push-start thing. taken. sorry.

2 tickets in one weekend! With the HC shenanigns, that makes 4 in one month. [leo]
How am I ever going to afford a 1098s (because I need more speed) when I'm spending all my money battling speeding tickets! The gods of paradox and irony have evidently chosen me as their poster boy. What'd I ever do to them!
[bang]
When did you get the other 2?
Quote from: bryant8 on June 29, 2008, 08:50:30 PM
When did you get the other 2?
- one yesterday in the cage on the GB
- one an hour ago on the bike in Grapevine
it's not my fault my brain processes things faster and I can't stand going slow. all my life I've been told to slow up for other people (mostly in bed [laugh]) and it's really cramping my style. [evil]
Ouch that sucks man... Quit getting pulled over by the LEOs and save your pennies for that sick 1098
Me too, ouch bro'! You know I conditioned my brain several years ago to not speed at all in the cage and for that matter I will not go faster than traffic pace in town. I refuse to get some bullshit 10-20 over ticket in town. No way. I love it when Schumacher Jrs. blow past me because they can run point for me all day long. Let them get the hickey. Whether on bike or cage I putter in town and on the hwys. If I get a ticket let it be 160+ on a 2 lane out in the country not 50 in a 35 in town. :P If I get it I probably deserve it. But the last speeding ticket I got was in 1988 on a GSXR750 on 455 between Celina and Anna on a Saturday AM. Thankfully it was only a 89 in a 55 because right before that turn I was running 135+!! Again, ouch man! [leo]
When municipalities shorten the time of a yellow light to a nanosecond so they can " enhance revenues " from redlight cameras - that's B.S!
Running a redlight could not have been my fault - I NEVER do that - I'm simply avoiding being rear-ended ( no Brokeback jokes please ) maybe I'm occasionally a little late on a yellow light ! The city of Dallas has stills and video however that prove that to be bullshit !
Will, I feel your pain. I ended up with two in two weeks - one on the bike, one in the cage. I'd been able to avoid speeding tickets for eight years before that (yeah, O.K., five of those years were in the Philippines. Managed to get pulled over only once there but I think it was only because the local constabulary wanted to get a better look at my shit hot, baby puke green '72 VW Beetle... I mean it couldn't have been anything else - speeding in a Beetle? Seriously. Must've looked like a terrorist).
So, speeding tickets seem to come all at once for me is the point (yes friends, there was a point in all that) so hopefully these will be your last for a while.
On my drive to work this morning I counted 6 people pulled over at various stages of the commute. The LEOs seem to be out in force this week and we all know it'll be worse over the weekend. Be careful out there and watch out for the fuzz
yeah...same going home last night from alan's place...before i even hit I20 i saw three people pulled over on 35W, two more on I20, and one on 35E. i think i did 70 the whole way home...'cause that's how i roll... 8)
sucks about the tickets, though, man... i once had my license taken away for a 'lil bit, so i feel your pain. SR22 insurance sucks balls :-\ hope your tickets don't amount to too much $$
I didn't see anyone pulled over on my way in today,
...but I was late, doing tripple digits -so I probably wouldn't have noticed... [roll]
I have also lost my license in the past for excessive multiple speeding voilations...
I don't recommend that.
I'm passing word on to everyone to be careful the po-po is out [leo]
this is the end of the month and they have to make the quota!!
Why stop for po-po when you're on your bike? Just run. We can outrun everything. I learned that in Squid School 101.
I never get tickets on the bike, because I never stop. I never get tracked down because I cleverly hide my license plate waaaay up under the seat (also learned in SS101).
C'mon - be real men (and women) and run from the law! You're supposed to be Ducati hooligans, not a bunch of nancy-boys with shit hot bikes.

They get grant money to work traffic and DWI stops. They have to use the money in the way that it was intended. If it's DWI Task Force money then they put lots of extra offices out on the streets at prime time DWI driving... weekend nights, holidays, Thursday evening for happy hour drunks, etc. Maybe they are spending their traffic patrol grant $$$.

Talk from another board is:
"LiSTers:
Ontario and Quebec Provinces have gotten very, very serious about
speeding or stunting. I spend a lot of time in both Provinces, and
about two weeks ago had a conversation with a friend and his buddy,
who is an Ontario Provincial Police officer. The OPP chap said to date
in Ontario a bit more than 6,000 citations have been issued for
driving or riding more than 50 kliks over the posted limit, and the
law went into effect this past January. The law allows (or demands)
that the vehicle is impounded on the spot, the driver or rider hands
his or her license over on the spot and the maximum fine is $10,000.
ùthe officer said the average fine has been running $3-4,000, and
knows of only a couple of drivers who have been hit with the 10 grand
fine. The car or bike is kept for 10 days, with the owner getting to
pay towing and impound daily fees. It is a BIG deal in Ontario. A few
moto heads have been cited for doing even a small, power wheelie under
the stunt riding provision. Same fines and impounds as above. Be
careful up there. There are notices along highways that are billboard
size outlining the fines.
Hobatz"

Oh Canada, do me a favor and stay on your side of the border.

Man, I don't agree: I do a lot of driving on the toll roads around here and I see this kind of "stunt" riding often. I think the Canadian law is a good one. Jesus and Satan were having an argument as to who was the better programmer. This went on for days until they agreed to hold a contest with God as the judge. They sat at their computers and began.
They typed furiously for several hours, lines of code streaming up on the screen. Seconds before the end of the competition, a bolt of lightning struck, taking out the electricity. Moments later, the power was restored, and God announced that the contest was over. He asked Satan to show what he had come up with. Satan was visibly upset, and cried, "I have nothing! I lost it all when the power went out."
"Very well, then," God said, "Let us see if Jesus did any better."
Jesus entered a command, and the screen came to life in vivid display, the voices of an angelic choir poured forth from the speakers. Satan was astonished. He stuttered, "But how?! I lost everything, yet Jesus' program is intact! How did he do it?"
God chuckled, "Jesus saves"

I'm no fan of AMA roadracing, but I've been following this crankshaft story, and all the details I've seen indicate Mladin's crank was pretty different from every other stock crank they inspected. This new article says Suzuki hasn't claimed an old part was superseded, so why is Matt's different? Suzuki hasn't explained that anywhere that I've seen.

Tommy, why not take the chatter to threads like "The Local Say Anything Thread" instead filling all the other threads with pointless posts and making the thread starter shift though all the "open forum" posts and then update the original post.
Bullshit is when you join a online forum and you start reading posts to see the general idea of how people are and what they are saying. Then you kinda just jump in the mix. Sure you make some crazy comments here and there, but you are also mimmicking the others on the board. You post some stuff, then immediately remove it, because you're unsure of how people will take it, but then you read other peoples stuff and think...holy cow....he just said that....wow...... Then noone says anything. then people continue to post and post and post and then all the sudden you get called out by name......(not the first time either) that's bullshit. I believe in calling a spade a spade, but call all spades spades, you dig?
I'm just saying.....

Marquess just got a ticket in the mail citing that he was traveling at an unsafe speed. I'm sorry, I have to call BullShit, and I would most deffinitely pay a visit to the judge to keep that off my record. They don't know what speed he was traveling. They have zero proof. He could easily have ran off the road (accidentally) while riding his motorcycle at the speed limit, which I believe was 55 or 60 mph. He was riding in a group and lost control of his motorcycle.....(flat tire, sand, gravel, problem with bike, etc....)

WTF!!!! :o
Oh yeah, that is total f#@king bulls#@t!!! I can't believe that trooper did that. He seemed like a very nice, understanding guy. He had nothing to go on other than what he was told by me and others and most of that was second or third hand info. I wasn't following him! Hell, I was eight miles down the road! That's just wrong. Doesn't he have enough troubles with adding salt to the wound? That sounds like a very "fightable" ticket but who the hell wants to hire an attorney in Cooke County and then travel to Gainesville (probably the county seat) to go to court? That sucks. :P
That is really not suprising. The police probably scouted the area for gravel and debris. The accident investigation most likely states that the cause was excessive speed (an easy box to check.) This will be an easy ticket to beat. Reasonable doubt can be a wonderful thing. Since he doesn't remember what happend, and no witnesses, there is no way to prove that he was going too fast. For all the police know he could have been distracted by a bee in the helmet!
"Your Honor, at no time during the trip was I riding at a speed that was too fast for the road, conditions, or my skill on the motorcycle. I believe that there was an external factor that caused my accident, but I do not remember what happend. The people who were behind me were travelling at a similar and safe speed, and they navigated he corner successfully."
Case dismissed. Next case. [thumbsup] [moto] [beer]

BEAUTIFUL, and the popo's who did this should be ashamed of themselves & the bogus way they are handling it. Motorcycling is not a crime ( well - unless you ride like Surly Blur ) !!

I know y'all were busy with trackday etc. so I thought I would fill y'all in - I'm halfway inclined to suggest a group meet-up over there. I like this lady, & this place, & she doesn't deserve this BS !!! >:(
Uh, "High Five Cycles" you say? [coffee]
She is a very nice lady and a good rider. Check out her Bonneville speed record Hayabusa. [thumbsup] She also has a nice 998 Ducati. Nice for a girl to have Al Lamb as a boyfriend. [clap] I like stopping by there to check out the interesting used bike selection. They had a killer yellow/black RZ350 Yamaha (I think it was an '84 model) in perfect stone stock condition with maybe 4-5,000 miles on it. Still even had the OEM stock tires on it! Had me Jonesing bad!!! [bang] Thankfully someone finally bought it.
Quincy is a great guy too, can't forget about him. He had an RC51 for a while so we always trade RC51 stories. Cut me some good prices on a set of Pilot Powers a few months ago. Nice folks. [clap]
Actually I just read your link to the story... yeah, that's total bullshit!! I don't see her lying about any of that. That is not her style. I don't see Quincy lying about it either! I just see some DPD officers that don't like Thursday night biker gatherings. That's her store and her property! Who the hell complained to get the cops there. I'd like to know that part of the story. Who filed the complaint? I'm saying BS!

Where'd you hear that? Sounds like a pretty specific rumor. Can't beleive they would spend money to develop a completely different TC system if they already have one that works really well and shouldn't really cost that much to produce. I reckon we will know pretty soon but I'm getting antsy!
It was posted on the 1098 forum, but I got it from a dude on the MV forum. He works for MV, but always gets the Ducati stuff early. He confirmed the streetfighter about 6 months ago, and was even right on the pricing.

I feel your pain. When I got the '08 Chevy pick up I thought I'd get a couple of extra keys. $110 a piece... if I remember right. And they had to recut them two different times and they are still a little iffy. I probably should use them on a regular basis to get the new, fresh cut key worn off of them. I can see the time coming when I loose the original and have to resort to the cut spare and it decides not to work. :P Keys should be cheap. I think Obama needs to pass a Federal law saying so. SUFFER in your jocks, bikers. Yes, that means you, you wussy Hell's Angel. And you, Bandido boy. The secret's out. You aren't just overweight, smelly, middle-aged drug dealers with more tattoos than teeth. You are soft in the pants department - and quite probably bedwetters, as well.
And guess what? These afflictions are caused by riding motorcycles.
That's right, a new study has found that men who ride them risk impotence and urinary problems because the engine vibration damages nerves in their penises.
A survey of more than 230 motorcyclists who ride for about three hours every weekend found that almost 70 per cent had problems getting an erection or emptying their bladders.
The news is alarming for Victorian men who have turned to motorcycles and scooters in the past few years to beat rising fuel prices and growing traffic congestion.
Doctors in Japan, who published two studies on the dangers in the Inter-national Journal of Impotence Research, said most motorcycle seats put undue pressure on the area between the anus and the scrotum, cutting blood flow to the penis.
Vibrations from the engine also caused a decrease in two growth hormones in the bladder and prostate related to bladder relaxation.
Impotence affects most males during their lives and can be caused by emotional issues, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking or alcohol.
But all men should avoid sitting too long on hard bicycle or motorcycle seats, particularly ones with thin, pointed ends, to prevent compression of pelvic floor muscles, Impotence Australia chief executive Brett McCann said yesterday.
About 76 per cent of riders aged 40 to 49, and 93 per cent of those aged 50 to 59, reported severe erectile dysfunction, compared with 37 per cent and 42 per cent respectively among those who did not ride motorcycles.
John Sbrocchi has been riding a scooter to work for 2 years. His sex life had not suffered.
Scooters normally have wider, softer seats than motorcycles, but vibrations can still affect the genitals.
"I do have urinary flow issues, but I'm not putting it down to the scooter," Mr Sbrocchi said.
"I'm a man of 62 and when you get to that age you get prostate problems.
"I think scooters are one of life's greatest innovations - so it would take more than that to put me off."
Most seats are too hard
