I know it's early, but I just found out the Fishtail schedule.
I'm thinking August 19th-21st.
There are trackdays Monday and Tuesday.
No guarantees about a fire, but if the house plans go in to effect there will be lots of 'legal' burning material as we'll be cutting a bunch of trees.
It will be hard to beat last year, but I bet we can have some fun.
Is there a legal limit to how many logs we can throw on the fire? We could compete with Burning Man [evil]
Soooooooo bummed I missed this years DIMBY. If this happens I will be there!!!!!

Not as to number...just size. The law states nothing over 4" diameter.
I can guarantee you they'll come check. ;)

I been hangin around here a while, and spent a small amount of time at the other place. I am not the Monster devote some of you are, but it is a fun toy for short hops for a guy with old knees. Been reading about this DIMBY for a couple years now and it sure sounds like I missed a good time this last go-round!
You are a week ahead of Moto GP @ Indy. Past two years I have gone from MN to Indy for GP, hopped on my bike immediately after the GP race and hauled ass for Bonneville to meet a friend on the Salt. BUB Speed Trials overlaps Indy GP.
Convince me I need to start a week early for Indy!

Still sounds like a hoot. Its aboot 1400 miles give or take, here to there.
The lawn boy deck is "burning stuff" ;D But I wouldn't be dragging one along.
It's aboot 1000 miles there to Indy, depending on "excursions" like riding New England (on my bucket list) or going back down to The Dragon and the Blue Ridge area.
Gonna have to give this some serious thought.

The picture was supposed to funny. Its an eagle strutting on water with rapperesque language on it. That's funny, no?. You see, some folks above were giving the imitation DIMBY some good-natured ribbing. Which I found to be humorous. So I returned the good natured ribbing with a humorous photo. Perhaps, I thought, some silly trash talk might push both DIMBYs to reach for greater levels debauchery and mayhem in an effort to out do one another. But . . .
*sigh*
Sorry for yet again upsetting your delicate soul. The offending picture has been removed and I will return to the West Coast DIMBY thread as instructed.

I'm nowhere near clairvoyant enough to understand what you find funny, just as you don't get my humor .
You asked me to stay away from you...
If you don't feel like I have to any longer then just say so.
Otherwise I'll just believe the only reason you posted in this thread was to be a dick since you have no intention of attending.

dont know if ill be making the track day this year....cash is a bit tight now and dont have full leathers yet. :(
If you can find the cash I have a 1pc set you can borrow for the day. No knee sliders on it but it would get you out there.
I think we're similar size so I bet it would be good enough fit for the day.
really? that would be awesome! i got some slider that i can throw on. im gonna start saving now! hopefully i can get it while they have a spots left. i am a skinny make the beast with two backser though im 6 feet tall and only weigh about 160 wet.
These should fit you well then.
No velcro to add the pucks on these bad boys so keep your knee off the ground ;)
okay not a problem, never had a kneedown anyhow and i am gonna take it a bit easy as i love my bike and dont want it to go down. and i dont wanna waste out your suit.
It had already been on the ground when I bought it.

- fire stumbling
- sloppy seconds for care bear
- the documentation of the blasting of beans
- lost sleep walkers who can't find their way back into their tent
- live denver post coverage
- wedding
It just going to be another party.

Do you have room for one more? I have tentative plans for Saturday night, but could make Friday, camp out Friday night if that's what folks are doing, and do a ride or whatever is on tap for Saturday. I haven't been on the list much, but it would be nice to get out of town for a night and hang out with some bike nuts.

If I recall correctly, CharlieF's wife admitted that she was reluctant to come out and play with a motorcycle group but was pleasantly surprised that we weren't all that bad. [thumbsup]
And it's definitely a kid-friendly atmosphere.

and i went on the group ride the next day.
Dan, is that an Isabella Rossellini pic in your avatar? Again... nice taste. [thumbsup] [bow_down]
It is...
I need to say something as it seems things are straying from my original intent. I even jokingly indicated I was upset about someone not riding or bringing a bike.
DIMBY is intended to be nothing but a party.
It isn't a race...it isn't a trackday...it isn't a Saturday ride.
The fact motorcycles are involved is secondary.
Attendance is not required or expected...a motorcycle is not required or expected.
We feel honored that some of you wackos are able to come and have a party with us once a year.
So if you can, come join us...with whatever vehicles you bring.
If we go on a ride...fine, if not the roads will probably be a safer place and I can sleep in. [evil]
If we go to the track together...fine, but less crashing this year. :P
If we just sit around and party and laugh at each other and burn stuff...fine.
See you this weekend.
See you Saturday morning. [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

Actually...even if I did have the money right now I'd have a tough time actually getting that.
What I discovered, with this being only the 2nd street bike I've ever ridden, that it isn't a good street bike. To enjoy it you have to be riding it like a nut. It really should be a track bike.

Now there is a large void in the chronicles of Dimby. In the future, students of this cult will wonder about the lapse and come up with theories that assert perhaps that the DP ascended to the heavens seeking wisdom and apple branches for the smoker and returned a year later after having found a pig roast to be the next best option.
Sounds like a good time was had by all. A pig roast for next year?! I'm in!!!

I'm posting this in here because the people that attended DIMBY this year were aware that my local fire warden and friend of 23 years, Kenneth, had suffered a stroke.
We didn't have a big fire because by the time I got around to looking for a permit there was no one at the firehouse.
I got a call from his son tonight...late night calls suck.
Kenneth passed away either yesterday morning or this morning...doesn't really matter...at 3 am.
RIP my friend.
Man, that's too bad. I'm sorry to hear the news.
Rip
Sorry to hear that Nate.
RIP Kenneth :'(
My condolences.
RIP Kenneth.
RIP
Sorry to hear, RIP Kenneth
:( that's bad news... sorry nate
Sorry for the loss to you and his family. RIP
sorry to hear that Nate...
That's awful. Sorry for the loss of your friend.
This one's for Kenneth. RIP sir.
[beer]
sorry to hear.
Thanks everyone.
I went to the wake the other night.
He's better off resting.
His last days were not very good.
Sorry to hear that Nate. :(
Sorry Nate, RIP Kenneth.

Had two friends when we were in high school that had a running prank with a small flexible Gumby (yes, as in Pokey and Gumby). It would show up in the funniest/craziest of places.
One time one of two pranksters needed to mow his family's lawn but the mower wouldn't start much less turn over when you pulled the start rope. Into the shop it went. And yes (much like the above story ;)) the mower shop mechanic called laughing his ass off saying there was a folded up Gumby in the cylinder of the engine!
