The Paso was the bike that made me realize that Ducs were something unique and special.

Even today, a Paso will stand out in any crowd. I wouldn't want a 750 but this is a 907 - a totally different animal.

It's sexy as hell.
It's 2 hours from me.
I could never lose money on it.
I'm soooooooo tempted !

FWIW, winning bid was $3150.

RC8 Limited Edition...

What a shame.  A real good bike for sure and even better with the mods....... but............ absolutely, and I mean absolutely, zero support from the local dealer.  Even that recent 690 Duke looked sweet but, again, no support for the road bikes from the local dealer.  Dirt bikes.... that's a different story but for road bikes I think you have to go to Maui...... or maybe it's a toss up ....... a friend of mine had a Super Duke over here for a while getting fixed because they wouldn't/couldn't fix it in Maui, even though it was sold there ......... no matter........ local dealers have no love for the street bikes   [thumbsdown] [thumbsdown]
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

That RC8 belongs to Justin's friend, that came out with us once or twice all those years ago, and there's nothing limited about it at all.  The number brought into the states the he mentioned is completely inaccurate.   He's also smoking some really strong crack asking that much for it.  You can get a NOS model, with the improved engine heads, for less than that these days.

Now as far as the 690s being supported by... Whatever their name is; it can be done.  The Duke has the LC4 motor in it, which is in a few of the previous model dirt and dual sport bikes that the guys in Kaneohe were set up to work on.
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

I thought Justin's friend rolled that RC8 into a ball.........maybe not? ? ?  But, you're right, plain old orange RC8 is no big deal at all. They are almost giving them away now, figuratively speaking of course.  No help at all that  KTM dropped their briefly lived superbike AMA racing program, if you could even call it a program.

I know Domenico's works on the LC4 dirt version. Thought they didn't support the fuel injection road models.  Never really pressed for accurate info on that as they weren't even interested in bringing in the road bikes.

I've seen an RC8 serviced at South Seas a couple of times.  I wanted to rent the bike at Mid Ohio to play on the track, but my timing was off.  The feedback from a few riders was it's easier to ride than the 1198, but has slightly less power.

Got any more bites on your 1198?

Looks like good work, and super clean.  Overall not really to my taste, but I'd still love to see it in real life.
