So if I went to the local mall, and asked 100 teenage girls who Romano Fenati is, more than one would know?

Not one.  [laugh]
But they should market it like he said. I dont like it, but it makes commercial sense at least. If your little girl is going to spend Daddy's money, it might as well be related  to motorbikes rather than New Direction or JB. At least the moto 3 boys have balls.

Having four teenage daughters (I'll never retire), at least they might watch the racing with me and appreciate motorcycles. Eighteen year old does want a Monster which is good, she is the only one though.

Spose its an untapped market.

Problem is koko, teenage girls will do to racing what they have done to the music charts. So what you will have is pretty faces on bikes rather than blokes that can ride.
When I've been to Phillip isiand over the years there are hardly any women there.
So where this writer gets his information from about the fairer sex I'm not sure.

~~~SNIP~~~
Ah, but their on-track performance is not determined solely by the enthusiasm of the fans.
I'd say teenage boys have done their fair share of ruining the music charts as well.
Damn kids and your music, get offa my lawn!  [laugh]
I dont think he's saying how it is (down here anyway), but how it could be by harnessing the marketing opportunity. Big bucks to be had from "insecure impressionable teenage girls", as the song goes (an insightful parody song about current pop music industry).
Thank God my seventeen year old loves Black Sabbath and muscle cars. [evil]
If teenage girls and "pop music" are any indicator, then "motorcycle racing" will be around for a long time to come...it just may not look like anything you've seen before....
I can totally see Marc riding a bike with a tampax logo on it.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.
Can someone photoshop One Direction onto a coupla Moto3 bikes for a ceiling poster for my room?  My N'Sync poster is more than just a coupla teeny-bopper generations too old.  Gracias.
we laugh and joke, but the Paris Hilton sponsorship opportunity from 2011 he references could have been a cultivated gateway for a lot of teams struggling to find money...imagine if you would the idea of what Yamaha did near the end of Rossi's tenure with the twitter pic image users thing they did if say Twitter did a bike sponsorship....or, laugh as you might...a record label ( say Beiber's ) sponsored a bike and every race featured a different artist likeness on the bike...since JB is a rider ( though admittedly a squid) the likelyhood of riding that popularity and monetary wave is a very feasable one indeed...
But i find Beibers music just as offensive and carcinogenic as cigarette smoke. So if he does sponsor a team, i demand his face be removed from the teams livery during all stateside events, same as what the Marlboro teams are subjected to.
