If you get a proper filter there is a check valve that keeps it from emptying,  Cheap afteremarket?  Think EXXON Valdez.

When they make a loss they come crying to local tax payers to pay up.

There are are about 4 "O" rings on the filter assembly so that all the proper seals are made I guess.

It's easy to see how they make it drain back into the motor and not all over the motor from that pic.

Is that from your Mercedes?

No its a stock photo i found. Mine looks just like that except it looks like its been in oil. Actually i have two oil soaked filters like that now.

I was thinking i could help out ford by selling the E320 wagon and going with this.



I bet if i offered the guy $2500 he would take it. Technically its a classic car.

But he took alot of time to grow all that moss on the passenger side doors, not to mention whatever else is growing inside the car.

I was going to sell the Jimmy but it seems that its market value is about $1,000 with the 4WD not working. It has some other issues too, but its got about $800 worth of almost new rubber on it, and it has some practical uses so I guess ill just keep it and maybe fix the 4WD.

The AC runs pretty cold on it. In fact i just had the compressor replaced and some seals and hoses to the tune of about $800 just two summers ago.
