One think thats funny about my flight is that Bonaza OR doesn't even have a landing strip to my knowledge let alone an airport.

Not really sure. I just stopped in Elko to get gas and stretch last year and saw the Casino. The town was much larger than I thought it was. I don't know what draws people to the middle of the dessert like that though.


Like Randimus said...Gold, and the jobs that go with it. Nevada is the 2nd largest gold producing region in the world, mostly in the general area of Elko.

Also, there's fantastic hunting/camping/fishing around Elko if that's you're thing.

I wouldn't move there (as a native Nevadan), but I can see why people would.

As for myself I like to live amongst the trees and other green things.

[laugh] Never thought about that! The silver boom around Virginia City did come before the gold rush though.
