My bike is not wanting to go into neutral when I'm at stops.  When I try and ease the shifter up, it's hard and then pops to second?? Any genius' out there?  I can't handle having to hold the damn clutch in all the time........oddly it finds neutral easier when bike is turned off.

Weird, not sure what the problem may be but the word going around is that there alot of 1098/848/696 getting stuck in gear and having to be towed in for repairs. Got this from the guy that is contracted by DNA to do all of their rode side assistance in the area. Cycle Rescue. Mark said they picked up 9 Ducs last weekend with this problem.

Id give AMS a call and see if they have any insight on a known issue and see if your symptoms are similiar. You know before you get stuck out.

I definitely recommend you having AMS take a look at your 1098s... It seems to be really slow in the corners ;D

I have a hard time finding neutral at a stop. It's much, much easier while rolling. It's just starting to be broke in at 16k miles. Or maybe I'm just used to it now.

Peter at ML mentioned the other day that there seems to be a problem with 1098s having their gearboxs lock up. I believe he said they get stuck in 2nd and won't budge. Shifter pawl trouble maybe??

My 916 is a little funny with neutral. Nothing major, just touchy. What always works is when coming to a stop I find neutral while I'm still rolling before the wheels stop turning. It makes it happy that way. If it's happy then I'm happy. And yes, holding the clutch in on a Ducati at a long traffic light is an isometric exercise I don't need or want. :P

I do this also, but I don't let out on the clutch until stopped or nearly there because the light has shown neutral before and it wasn't really in neutral....that happened on old sc.  Then I had to re-cycle to get bike to start again.  :P
