Look under the frame and above the horizontal cylinder. There is a black plastic piece. It has a mesh front, and black plastic sides. The oiler cooler is in there. A pretty slick way to hide it IMO...as the current oil coolers are ugly.

The 696 has the same oil cooler cover...but it's empty. I specifically checked at the local 696 intro. party. If I had a 696 it'd be one of the 1st things I removed...right after the reflectors and emissions shit.

yeah there's a mount there on the frame itself, i had posted about it before. i'm waiting for the oil cooler kit to come out for the 696.

Aaaaand the winner of the 2009 Redesign of the Year Award goes to.....

THE BOOGER!!
You can get one in YELLOW!!

OK, the new, redesigned Jimbo sez:
I like-
     silver wheels
     the specs
     (thinking....)
It'll make Mulitstradas fly off the shelves?  OK, I tried.

Someone should be ashamed.  At least 'belle can strike one off her list.

I'm gonna shit in your helmet the next time I see you.

No reason was specified.

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

The fact that you can't get a Monster w, more than 95 HP and a 2V engine seems very surprising .  It's like Ducati is moving backwards.

Why drop the 4/v engine and the higher HP output ?

imho, they're working the marketing... is just like the s2r800, s2r1000, s4rs ... they were rolled out in a sequence to garner the most attraction and sales.

I want to ride one before I pass judgement on it.

First impression is kinda blah though.  :-\

I like it, especially the color options [thumbsup]. How much is it going to cost?

A lot.

The 696 is $10,300 or something out the door when I asked at my local dealer. I got my S2R800 for $9250 OTD, which reflected a $500 discount. And this was before the S2R1000 was introduced, so the S2R800 was technically still in demand.

So the M1100 is prolly going to be $12~$14k. I believe we'll start seeing the MSRP finally creeping up to reflect the strong euro against the US $.

I don't care what they come out with now. I got my 800 and it's perfect for me.

The cover. Dry clutches just have a small cover which only covers the clutch itself...you can see it in the photos. Wet clutches don't have a separate clutch cover, as it is all part of the engine case.

Yea on most bikes, but check out the quick change wet clutch on this Bike.

There is no reason why this cant be done on almost any bike.

geez people get a life. ducati is changing things. now either buy one or don't but do you seriously think ducati cares about your whining?
i don't think they want to follow HD lead despite so many of you wanting that crap road to follow.

Think back to the 999 if you honestly believe Ducati does not care. It was only produced for three years,  when we were blessed with the 1098.
No one IMO can look at this new bike and think it can possibly have the run the Iconic design has had. For those  of us who are less than Impressed with the new bike, all I can say is it's gonna be a long stretch until the redesign  [bang]

Ciao
Ordinarily he was insane, but he had lucid moments when he was merely stupid.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

I was referring to Ducs specifically.

Dammm!!!! that bike is beautiful!! ;D Shit, now I have to sell my 696,

One of the distinguishing components of past monsters has been the trellis frame and the way it flowed with the length of the bike to make it look mean and aggressive.  The trellis frame on this new bike, however, does not look like it's part of the bike, but rather just bolted on to maintain a semblance of the monster image.  It seems too short and fat to me.  And no black monster.  Sacrilege  Just my $0.02.
