i just got my high mount arrows in the mail today and went to put them on my 03 620 monster and am having some problems.  ??? when i bought the bike it came with high mount termis and ducati performance rear sets. now when i tried to install the right side can and pipe it is running into the master for the rear brake. i assumed that already having high mounts that i wouldnt have any fit problems. but it looks like the bend is a little sharper in the arrows then the termis. anyone have any ideas on how to make this work without having to buy new rearsets?? even with buying new rearsets it looks like the master is still mounted in the same place.... i guess i could fab something to change the mounting location of the master but i would rather not cut up my rearsets.

thanks for the help i just wanna ride!!  [moto]

Without seeing the bike it is hard to tell, but if the carbon canister was removed, you may need to shim out the foot peg bracket a little.

ScrewDriver

how far out can you shim the rear set??? an inch?

No.  Can you post some photos?  Something has to be radically wrong.

if you can find the MC mount from... crap... IIRC the ST bikes, it mounts on the engine, in front of the pegs. (where the stock monster pegs mount to the lower part of the case).

my CC rearsets mount the same way, and yes, it's a tight fit w/rearsets and arrow high mounts.

:Edit:

found link to a big-sized pic of an ST. look at the peg/engine case. that's the bit I'm talking about.

ScrewDriver

here is a pic of where it is hitting the master

I believe those rearsets may be part of the problem. I have installed Arrow high mounts on a monster with S&P rearsets and I remember the them to locate the master cylinder more forward, closer to the rear vertical support of the footrest bracket... meaning that your only solution may be to mount a master cylinder to the engine, 916 style.

yep. def. no good... unless you want to melt things and learn that DOT 4 burns a very pretty green...  :D

ScrewDriver

didn't ducati used to have the part schematics onilne?  ???

that mounting bracket for the ST should work... if only I could find a damn part number  :-\

price would probably suck for a new one, so you could try ebay.

or, y'know, fab your own  [cheeky]

i found the part list online but i dont see how that is going to help me. it would put the master in front of the rear set how would the lever work then? i see that i need to re-locate it but dont see how to while keeping the piston lined up so when i press the pedal it stops!

Howie

I only see three solutions;  1. fab a bracket  2. different exhaust  3. different rear sets.  Unfortunately, I have no good idea a bracket design.

the lever is mounted on the bracket w/the MC, so I assume you'd remove the lever from your rearset, leaving it essentially just a footpeg. not sure how that bit would work out, since I've never seen the DP sets in person....

ScrewDriver

anyone know of any rear sets that the master mounts in a different place?
i just realized that i can not return my exhaust (dont order anything from motostrano btw bad return policy and horrible customer service) so im stuck with the exhaust.
